Feedback on the AFF website & brand refresh

It's... Terrible. Your customers are Frequent Flyers but this feels like it is catering to just credit card churning. I understand you get kick back from referring, but this is lossing touch with what we're all after, news, market research and the community.

All the owners care about is money it seems. How can we squeeze more money from these websites. How can we sell more points. How can we get more referrals. How can we increase the mailing lists etc.

Point Hacks went down the gurgler a few years back from a user/content point of view. AFF was just circling the drain a bit longer perhaps...

Not a fan of the purple nor the new logo. The old blue is much easier on the eyes, purple is harsh.; and the contrast in places is poor e.g. if you select text to copy the purple highlight is way too dark

Also the Australian part of AFF is now much less prominent, shame since being a site run for Aussies by Aussies is nice

Good feedback for the contrast of links and their anchor text on the background - we'll look to change this up to be much more readable
Thanks team! Sitewide overhauls are never a small deal, so appreciate the efforts of all in the background to make the transition as smooth as possible.

To @Aeryn's point, the contrast here isn't ideal either...

Yeah, you’ll need to lose that inverted Finnair tail logo… Also I prefer a classic or simpler font in forums and other text heavy sites, but not a big deal I suppose

I asked ChatGPT what the new AFF logo should be it suggested "Abstract globe with a stylized airplane trail forming the outline of Australia, and “Australian Frequent Flyer” beneath in clean, modern font."

I didnt even see the aircraft taking off..
I was thinking "why is the admin icon an upside down F" F for frequent
It is hard to unsee the Finnair logo, but I’m assuming it’s meant to be a stylised aircraft taking off whilst simultaneously being an inverted F.

Completely unnecessary.... hey ho.

And announced ..... announced where? There wasn't a notification sent out to members.

Unfortunately, that's what happens when a commercial entity purchases a website and has to try and spin a buck from it. It's also why those long standing members that had complimentary memberships had them stripped too.

Mood lighting. Colour changes throughout the day with the vibe of discussion. Keep it light people. ;)
It's god awful and really makes my eyes hurt. I'm sure a lot of UAT went into it prior to release ....... although given the comments, it seems not.

I think for me, it's time to say ttfn AFF.

I use AFF classic style and it looks the same to me….
