Feedback on the AFF website & brand refresh

Your email notifications won't, though.
My email notifications go into a box that I never open and delete every 500 or so, but it all still looks the same, just fine.. 😊

My first impression when visiting the site just now was that the site got hijacked. It looks like a commercial website trying to sell you something rather than a community that discusses the latest Australian travel news IMHO. One of the reasons I would visit AFF from time to time is to see that front page where I could learn about a new "enhancement" to Velocity or something else. Also the design pops out quite a bit. Yes it does look a bit more modern than the prior AFF, but if you care about finding the relevant content I would argue this is a significant downgrade.

Those are my two cents so take it for what it's worth.

Just switch to classic style.
Makes no difference to emails I'm afraid.

Also, for the weekly (?) gazette emails ......

The buttons don't present correctly. All in all, just a poorly thought out redesign.

As I've said with the trend of bringing on lots of new staff and pushing out lots of economy reviews to help them travel around the world and write it off for tax reasons, this forum has unfortunately just become pointless. Ironically, there's a transtasman J flight review thrown into the notification.

I love that the first article in the latest email after the modernising rebrand is about the retro domestic QF737 J class, all a bit back to the future-ish :)

I find the new font a bit less readable. I think everything has been scaled down, because when I increase the zoom by 10% it starts to resemble old AFF again.

I would prefer to see a bit more dynamic and actual content on the AFF main page.

When I open that page, it's not immediately clear to me what AFF is actually about. Instead, the "Join for Free" and "Explore Memberships" buttons stick out to me. Is AFF.... some sort of paid service?

Whereas the old page very clearly tells me this is a website about aviation, it's got up to date news and can help me find credit card offers.

Maybe you could change the buttons to "Explore the forums" or something, because joining a website is usually the last thing I want to do if I can avoid it, and if I don't know anything about it.
