the FB Wall is great for posting last minute lounge meets etc but I still would be posting lounge visits here on the monthly threads

The thought of emailing my personal details to a complete stranger who's loyalty was purchased for $4.95 or whatever the cost was is surreal.

Well your name, FF number, dates when not likely to be at home, address(?), phone number, ABN, email address, partial CC number and type, booking references. With the reference and name alone someone could get in and change your flight or cancel it.

For all the FB security issue there is at least some options to restrict access to information.

It has probably been mentioned already. But is there a way to access the AFF facebook page using the iphone app?

You know, deep down, I might be using this as one of my barriers against trip it as well.
I don't even leave used boarding passes on planes or in hotels.... The thought of emailing my personal details to a complete stranger who's loyalty was purchased for $4.95 or whatever the cost was is surreal.

I initially had serious misgivings about doing this myself, but after some research to confirm they are a real company and in reviewing their privacy policy, I'm reasonably satisfied that my personal details aren't going to be divulged without my approval to do so.

All of the above doesn't really help if someone manages to intercept the e-mail on the way in to TripIt in the first place, but I figure I'm at the same level of risk with the airline or hotel e-mailing the booking confirmation to me in the first instance. I guess it depends on what your comfort level is really.

you would be amazed what you can find out these days.Just having access to your name can give away so much.I was being hounded on Trip Advisor at one time.Googling the user name led me to her FB page.Once I had the real name-boy was I able to put an end to the shenanigans. Some of her photos were pretty good too!:oops::D
