I have to say - quite an amateur operation.

I would have thought an organisation the size of Woolies would be able to get their act together.

I'd have to agree, however once you get the card its all standard stuff from there on and great 1:1 earn anywhere...

I got my card today, quite a simple and painless process for me (unlike some others in this thread). Let the spending begin!

Just wait to see the looks of 'total confusion' when you hand over your new ERCC and ask them to scan it then pay with your AMEX - priceless.

My experience so far:

14 November: Applied on-line for the credit card
6 December: Nothing heard or received, so rang to enquire. Told that a letter was sent
on 1 December
17 December: Still no letter received. Rang again to enquire. Another letter will be sent
24 December: Nothing received as yet

Since then:

29 December: Still nothing received. Told that another letter is being sent today.

10 January: Now 8 weeks after application. Still nothing received by mail. Rang again to be told to wait a bit longer for the letter of 29th December to arrive.

Have been told that conditional approval was given on 1st December, subject to 100 point ID check.

Not looking too good at this stage.

....defintely not the easiest process to get this card. Submitted all my details a few weeks ago - got a status update of pending application in the account area, since then nothing...

Did they ever send you the card? I'm having no end of trouble just trying to get the letter.

I had the same experience.
No email, phone call, letter or fuss - the card just arrived by mail with the credit limit I expected.

I was shocked. Safeway/Woolworths South Melbourne the other day (late in the evening, around 11:45pm). Handed my EDR CC to the Cashier barcode-side up. He scanned it and handed it back to me, not even asking. I then swiped the Amex:)

That was the first time out of any of the Woolworths companies that one of the staff have known.

I would have thought they'd have educated their own staff on their own products (I actually pointed out all the large advertising for the card to one staff member who still didn't understand).

Drewbles you are showing all the signs of Fiendish behaviour doing that and I am surprised that WW did not see this coming.
A lot of us will be doing this once everyone realizes that this is the go.
Amex at 1.5 points plus loyalty swipe..... How sweet is that?

Hasn't everybody been doing this since the get go?

If only Dan Murphy's was linked to ER ongoing - what with Moet and Veuve priced at <$50 wondeful earn rate.

Have been told that conditional approval was given on 1st December, subject to 100 point ID check.

Similar hold up with me, I applied with a paper application and got my conditional approval after my 100 point ID check. Then nothing, followed by a letter requesting tax assessment and a copy of my drivers licence, I faxed it off and posted hard copies then did more waiting. Another letter requesting copy of Drivers licence, I phoned to discovered the hold up was that they had transposed my date of birth incorrectly and needed to see my DL to confirm birth date, they said the fax of my DL was too dark and I needed to send it again.

I faxed DL again and waited, Another letter requesting copy of DL and another phone call and again they said the fax was still too dark and could I send it again? I sent it again.

More waiting

Another letter requesting DL and another phone call, again they said the faxed copy of my DL was too dark to read, I inquired as to whether my hard copies had arrived by mail and was told no - they had not arrived.

I was just about to fax a poster size copy of my DL when I decided to phone and have a vent, I spoke to a guy and after explaining the situation he was able to view the hard copy which I had sent 4 weeks before ( only 10 mins before I had been told it wasn't there) confirmed my birth date and approved the card which arrived on the 23rd Dec.

Both cards are now in full use.:D

Sounds good. My Earth Gold only earns me 1 point per $1 spend on AMEX and 0.5 per $1 on Mastercard.

Yes I have only used it once as a credit card at WW when I was testing it out in the first week of use. It is Amex to pay at WW then the swipe scan of the back of everyday card.

Just saves me from carrying both cards that's all. Fortunately with the semi-self-service EFTPOS machines, it's a bit of a moot point. The most i've had is 'oh you can do that yourself' and I explain the barcode on the back.

I always prefer 1.5 points per dollar to 1 :)

Don't you get a bonus point per dollar when paying with your EDR CC at WW?

No specific bonus for using the EDR CC at WW.

A $50 purchase using an EDR CC may earn 20 QFF points from EDR and 50 QFF points from the EDR CC.

The same $50 purchase using an Amex and you EDR Barcode may earn 20 QFF points from EDR and 75 points from the Amex.

The same $50 purchase using a Wish Card purchased from Dick Smith using your Amex card may earn 20 QFF from EDR and 325 from Amex

Really? Next time I want some DVD or a TV I'll buy gift cards firsts then buy the goods with those.
