Newbie here. A big thanks in advance for any help!
Couple of questions here if anyone can help me out.
Ive just recently hit Platinum with Emirates, and have Qantas Gold as well.
Shortly i will be flying Syd to LAX on a points purchased Y flight on QF. I notice theat there is no emirates codeshare on the SYD to LAX. Since i wont get any points or SC. Am i best to use my Emirates FF # as opposed to my qantas FF#?
Will i be able to use the first class lounge at either end?

Also, flying JFK to LAX with united. Do Emirates FF get any recognition/benefits when flying United?

Firstly, congratulations on reaching Emirates Platinum. It is arguably harder to achieve than Qantas P1, and I think Emirates looks after its top-tier members better.

Emirates has its own ecosystem, so you’ll have more options than you would with Qantas alone, although not as many as you’d get across oneworld.

If you’re travelling on a Qantas Economy Reward ticket with your Emirates number attached, you should get access to the Qantas First Lounge. You may also be able to use First check-in, although I can’t find anything in the Emirates or Qantas rules that explicitly confirms this.

The Emirates Lounge isn’t shabby either, so it really comes down to personal preference.

Out of interest, how did you achieve Emirates Platinum?

I’d say if you have Emirates Platinum First Class check-in, you should also receive the equivalent benefit when flying Qantas. The Qantas and Emirates Restated Master Coordination Agreement refers to reciprocal benefits on an equivalent-tier basis, including priority check-in.

The only real benefit you receive with United is connectivity through the interline agreement, which may or may not help depending on your itinerary. Emirates status receives no recognition on United. Your benefits are limited to those you already hold independently or receive through the cabin you purchase. Lower your expectations and enjoy the friendly skies!
