Re: Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

to me it seems strange to be getting so many offers compared to others on here, from here it does not look random, but looking at the whole group here we must be very, very lucky.

This makes me and perhaps others around here wonder why...?

We also do NOT scan the barcode unless the purchase total is above the qualify spend for points / fuel discounts, so any small purchases Woolworths don't have linked to us... :p Perhaps doing this they only see bigger spending habits and could be "tricked" that I am very loyal with all the significant spend...

I used to do the same - no point wasting my time for no benefit, but then when I heard others got heaps of offers thought I should try the alternative, but still very infrequent offers (think I've had one, plus one quarterly - didn't even get the second - this year), so that's not it.

I wonder if there is a common link for those of you not getting bonii offers, do you all live in a similar area, state etc...? Do you have ISP's which incorrectly flag the offer emails as spam...?

There must be something up....?

Hard to say about location, but it's not spam; as mentioned I do get the odd offer come through (and it's not anywhere else). Even if it was location, it doesn't suggest why I would get one quarterly and not the other. I'm going with a dodgy e-mail system (and their e-mail reply suggested something at their end)...

Yes I too was disappointed to see no bonus points for the tea/coffee/soup offer I received. I got the points for $50 spend on fresh food but not the tea.

Is there any point contacting them about bonuses that don't post? I mean, do they respond meaningfully?

Re: Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

Ditto, I have a years supply of tea and no bonus points. .

While I understand you are probably exaggerating a mite...why buy tea not on special for points worth less that waiting to buy on special?

I have 5 cards...so bought one lot of discontinued Peppermint Tea which was going at a good discount as my daughters like it, but beyond that I looked at the prices and thought no... I can get more value by buying when on sale by saving the cash up front.. Ditto for the coffee.

Now I regard myself as an avid Points Runner, but I only grab points when it is the best option to do so and don't really understand the logic is stocking up on items at full price to secure points that don't offset the premium.

Now having said that the Everyday scheme has been great for me and I would estimate that it has allowed me to average over 2 points per $ spent at Safeways/Woolworths mainly on items bought on sale.

For a little bit yet those 2+ points to QFF are being augmented by 6.5 points to Krisflyer. After that it will be own to 4.5.

So say 2 x 2 (maybe 4) cents + 6.5 x 6 cents = 43 cent in the $ discount for buying selectively at Safeways. ;)

Me too, I've got at least 750 points to post, did the soup offer, fresh food and >$100 at Big W. Looks like they are running late this week.

Interesting that for two weeks in a row I took up the offers and then nothing this week. Que sera.

I agree 100%, these bonus offers are great, however they can be made better if you also take advantage of "weekly" or "Clearance" specials. Nothing quite like...

Triple dipping :p (Genuine % off saving + EDR Bonus Points + EDR Standard Points)

or even better, quadruple dipping with the use of a direct sweep credit card...!

Well, in my case, the coffee I bought was on special. It is generally the fresh food type offers I struggle with at Woolworths. I have not yet achieved one of those.

The BWS offers I seem to get are a bit of a struggle to - as Dan Murphy is much friendlier on price. Luckily last week I was able to pick up some wine at half the normal BWS price.

In the few times I have contacted them about bonus points they have been helpful.

If you have a bonus offer this week at Woolworths Liquor, then from 6/7 three bottles of spirits for $85* seems a good offer and works out to $28.33 per bottle seems like a good price, pretty close to the everyday price at Daniel Murphy's

*Jim Beam White Label, Smirnoff Red Vodka, Johnnie Walker Red, Bicardi Rum, Bundaberg Rum, Southern Comfort, Jack Daniels 1907, Gordons Dry Gin, Russion Standard Vodka

Well, in my case, the coffee I bought was on special.

Unfortuntaely I only buy beans, and for me Vitoria is the only bean that Saftway has that is worth buying flavour wise.

Yes sometime BWS has nothing worth buying.

Fortunately last week they had some selected wines marked down to less than Dan's...with the normal 20% off..plus the extra 5% for the Everday card...so last week was able to buy.

The time before too they had an end of Bin tub with wine marked own 80%...so good value to be had.

Re: Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

Well mrs.dr.ron took advantage of all her offers last week and a spend of ~ $500.This week no offers again.Last week was her first for 3 months.
Meanwhile I am over 10 months without an email.

would give you some of mine if it was possible, some weeks I really struggle to get the qualify spend, this is nearly always the case with the Woolworths Liquor offers. The bar is overstocked, but still the offers come rolling in...

I know the feeling, although in my case they are usually BWS offers. This week is one of those times I get to visit Woolworths Liquor.

Maybe it is the week to get spirits.
