I haven't had an offer for months.

Probably because I have to hassle them for the bonus points all the time

I think I just got some inspiration to use one of those gift vouchers I bought on the recent promo:

Double Velocity Points at BP on your second purchase

So the plan is - A token fill, followed by a major fill?

Just had an interesting situation regarding failure to get Velocity points on a purchase of BP fuel. I swiped my card and received a receipt showing I would get 66 points.
After a week or so the points were not credited so I contacted Velocity. They have credited me with 66 points, as a Goodwill measure. They referred me to the Terms and Conditions, which state a retrospective claim cannot be made where a technology failure means you cant swipe your card. However in my case I did swipe as the receipt shows. I replied to them mentioning this. For now I am happy as I have my points, but should this occur again, will probably be contacting both Velocity and BP, as it signifies a possible system error.

So tell me how it is your (the customer's) fault if there is a technology failure. What a crock.

I need to check mine too as I am sure my balance is not going up despite some bonus and double points offers...this is starting to sound a bit like shopping at Safeway and then chasing the points

I just today got 500 points for the last promo. I can't be bothered chasing up unless way overdue.

yup, mine's like this also, plus I got the three & four bonus points as my offer included extra fills.

So today was the first day I attempted to get points and I thought all the bugs would be ironed out and VIRGIN and BP would realise we are in 2016\17(not far away)
Get fuel, pull out phone with app of card and informed "physical card only" machine does not allow reader or manual input of number.....WTF???
Rang customer support and got points but told one time only offer.....
Have to use temp card in future and then link to account to transfer points
Prehistoric system!

The fact that I've crashed an entire BP register when trying to paywave with an amex suggests that BP is prehistoric

It's strange - their paywave reader at my local (to work) BP wasn't picking up my chipped Visa. I wanted to buy some BP Gift cards for Xmas pressies for staff. Had to switch to my personal Visa - *ting* no problems at all.

So I won't go there again. Off to my not so local alternative BP

I've only used this BP/Velocity tie-up twice in its existence. Mostly because BP stations are few & far between where I live and also because they are almost never the cheapest option after all the Shell/Coles; Caltex/Woolworths + Gull/Puma/IGA discount shop-a-docket voucher options are taken in account. All my local BP's surcharge for credit card use too, whereas all the others do not, so when taking all that into consideration, BP's pricing really has to be something extraordinarily special (or wrong) to make it worthwhile. All that said, the second time I've used it was this morning and it occured to me that if Velocity are serious about getting in this sort of regular, almost daily sort of incidental purchasing retail space like ColesWorth, then they could really do with issuing an optional keychain-sized version velocity card for the purpose. Woolworths already provide keychain Rewards scheme cards with the barcode on the back. It's a fairly trivial task to cut down a FlyBuys card to be the same thing. The problem with doing this to the Velocity card is they don't seem to use conventional barcodes as the reading method. It's magnetic strip only on the plastic card or a QR code on the virtual card in the app.

If anyone from Velocity is reading this (as claimed), then please provide a keychain size card option, if only to save my wallet's stitching from bursting with so many plastic cards in it.

Anyone still waiting on points from this offer, sent out in Dec 2016?

Collect up to 1000 points when you fill up with BP.
Simply activate this offer and and make up to four eligible fuel purchases by 15 January at any participating BP service station and you'll receive 250 bonus points for each visit.

The terms state that you should allow 5 weeks after offer period finishes before points will post. 5 weeks after 15 Jan is 19 Feb.

Looks like it was a targeted offer Aisle Seat (and they didn't target me) as I have no emails around that time...but give them a day or two to load the system and then check. They may only sweep every week?
