Earning Velocity points with BP

Looked at the BP Map and out closest BP in Denistone East (which I do go past at least once a week) seems to be the only one in our neck of the woods that is not participating!!!!

The BP closest to me on Brisbane's Southside had the signs and the cashier with the red shirt on; He got confused with my Global Wallet Chipped Card he thought I was using for payment (and/or the fact I had a Black VFF Card. Not for long though from today :( ). Once I swiped (Not inserted as the guy directed) the VFF Card, it was all fine. Then used my NAB VFF Amex to pay for the fuel - I wish that card was Black too, Haha.

And as I learnt the hard way, its per litre, not per dollar (That's for everything else in store) - This is after I read all the details on the website whilst I checked which store was actually doing this promotion. Still feel foolish now that I think about....
I'll report back when the points do post.

FYI, the main BP Service Stations heading towards Gold Coast & Sunshine Coast are also involved :) Will make roadtrips earn afew more points. Good-bye Flybuys

urgh, I wish this was wholly $$ based.
As someone who buys 98 its a little annoying to be entitled to the same points as someone purchasing petrol that is usually $0.2/L cheaper (with my heavy right foot it adds up ;) )
Still, something is better than nothing given I'm at BP every Wednesday anyway!

The BP/On the Run (some SA sites), bonus earn points, purely for the fuel/products bought, turns out its an easy peasy thing...
Just they slide your VGW card into the side slider, this registers your VF FF number into their system, then you tap (under Aud$100/slide in the bottom if over $100), and its done.
Easy as that.
Don't need their/the temporary FF card, the VGS will suffice, they slide the grey bit into the side reader.
Because this allows me as a nun driver to earn points, I find its a plus, better than EDR.
I still earn 2.5 points per $1 spent, 2 bonus points on the BP/OTR receipt, plus 0.5 points per $1 spent on the VGW itself, or for the rest of you 0.75/1 point per $1 spent on the Velocity (true) credit cards.
EDIT: I am the muppet. Blue is the name of the place you or I type into the search, bugga.
Sorry.

My goodness AustraliaPoochie, you are seriously putting my acronym skills to the test. What is VGS? You are a nun? OTR?

OTR is On The Run
Based on past posts, I can only guess VGS is his Velocity Silver card
And maybe he means non driver

BP near me ( for this week I have been taking note ) has been $0.03 dearer than woolies next door.

60litres per week @$1.35 nets me 243pts on amex spend via gift card and use at woolies petrol

60litres per week @$1.35 nets me $162 on direct amex spend plus 120pts on litres at BP = 282pts

can I be bothered to spend +/- $100 extra per year for about 2000 pts....not sure I am

now factor in a few discounts like $0.04 woolies and 5% disc on gift cards

I have a BP across the road, although I usually make my NSW Opal Top Up at Woolworths, this could be handy in an emergency. Can't see in T &C's if they are excluded. Will try it out and report back.
Had an emergency top up to do (5 Opal Card family) points in my account 24 hours later !

Used this yestarday when I was at BP to get Subway for lunch.

1st- Swiped my RAA card that gave me 10% off
2nd- Swiped my OTR Subway VIP Card which gave me a free drink
3rd- Swiped my Velocity Card which gave my 2 points per $ round up
4th- Paid via my Amex card which gave me an extra 3 points (2 points for petrol station spend, and 1 point as the BP is my Amex Local Champion)

So 5 points per $. Pretty happy with all that but i got a funny look with all the Swiping :)

In SA the family that own OTR have about 80% of the fuel outlets in ADL and are trying to control the cost of fuel and keep it high. They will not get my support for a few points.

Was supposed to VGW-Velocity Global Wallet.
Ok, by swiping the card down the side of the EFTPOS, you get points directly into your VR FF account, and when you tap your payment card, or slip it down the bottom, you get the points into your VGW or credit card account, which will then transfer to VR FF later.
I spent Aud$12.xx at BP/OTR (yes, On the Run-BP outsourced its selling arm to a separate company in SA while back), 24 points appeared in my VR FF account, so, you can use any means of other card to pay for your fuel or other/fuel and other purchases at BP/OTR (SA), the 2 are treated as different.
The payment side, I used VGW, the amount $12.xx is pending in there so I will get 6 points, 24 + 6 = 30/12, gives an earn rate of 2.5.
So, for those of you with 1point:$1 spend type of credit card, you will get your coveted 3points:$1 spent. Or $1:3.5 if you have a high value credit card to use, together with your VGW card.
To sum up, aye, I don't drive.
Do you think they allow most dogs to drive cars in Australia, nope. Not even guard dogs!
Now I do get it why when I used the QCC, it kept rejecting at the OTR stores I tried a while back!
