We are embarking on our first one-world classic award trip in business class shortly. We don't know how lounge access works - does it come automatically with flying business class?

We will be using QF, CX, BA, and QR mainly, passing through Sydney, Shanghai, London, Athens, Doha, Delhi, Bangalore, HongKong, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. What if an airline doesn't have a lounge of their own, can one use other one-world ones?

And another question: we heard of special packaging required for spare lithium batteries and those in cameras - does anyone know what we should know about this?

Thank you to anyone responding to my questions!

Cheers, Joseph

Yes, you will get lounge access while travelling in business (if there is a lounge available). Very rarely there will be special rules if a flight is on a 'partner' type airline, but that's rare.

As far as I know the rules for lithium batteries is that they have to be taken in your carry-on luggage, not in checked bags. Also, I think, can't be loose. In cameras is fine as long as the camera is with you.

ps you may care to edit your post to remove the phone number ... we are a nice bunch but phone #s aren't necessary :)

Yes, if you are travelling Business class, you get lounge access. The type of Business class ticket is irrelevant. You can use any oneworld airline's Business lounge if you are travelling on any other oneworld airline in Business. (i.e. if travelling in QF Business, you can use the CX lounge). There are a handful of exceptions to this that are specific to particular airports, but in 99% of the cases it is correct.

And if you have time you can sample a few. Ie in HKG there is a QF and 4 or 5 CX lounges. Check them all out if you have time
