Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

I just received a DSC offer and need 360 SC for gold... can anyone suggest any good runs from SYD yielding ~200 SC?

I'd suggest SYD xBNE TSV rtn.

One day trip

Lower MASA score :D

200 x2 = 400

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

I am doing PER - SYD - AKL - MEL - PER for 320SC.

Let's hope so Princess

That's one point of view.
Another is that no sane person would spend points on overpriced ASA's.
They will continue to book Classic Awards or redeem their points on upgrades or toasters.
For the next 3 months or so a tiny minority of FF will redeem those points at Classic Award levels via the phone gaining SC and points. An even tinier minority will use that time to book ASA's as Status Runs via the phone.
At the end of the phone booking period order will be restored to our world. That is the game that QF loyalty are playing and we are the pawns.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Any thoughts on how to grab an easy 360 SC in about 3 weeks? I'm leaving from Sydney and am currently Platinum.

I can travel Premium Economy to pretty much anywhere worldwide for my company as long as the leg is >8hrs, or I can try for status run with points+cash on any class. I have 150k points lying around right now.

One easy option is a worldwide trip, say to San Francisco via LA (on American) to nab another 200SC but I still have a shortfall to make up. It also helps if the big hit runs are actually viable targets for work related travel, so some random bizarre location is not as easy unless there is a layover that might likely have business customers.

Cheers!

Best Oneworld status points are out of ASIA, TPE (Taiwan) in particular on CX as they go via HKG the lounges there aren't to shabby either :).

Use Milage Monkey, to find ou status points on Oneworld (click ignore errors).

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Hi guys, not really after specific flight advice, more just is it possible. I have a mate that is going to be in the states next monday, he needs 700SC for platinum but has received the double SC offer, is it possible to 'easily' get 350SC for under 1k in the states?

The T&Cs will most likely state that the flights need to be on QF metal with a QF flight number. So he would need to get 700 on AA or other OW carrier.

have a look at the YUPP/KUPP thread for earning possibilities.

If its saving them squillions in free award fares and people are buying ten dollar toasters for 50000 points then I couldn't imagine Qantas reverting back anytime soon.

But I do hope you are correct Princess Fiona

They are hardly "free award fares". All the FF Points have been paid for, whether by flying or spending on credit cards or reward programs.

True Jessica , poor choice of words but I'm sure people know what I'm trying to say.

I dunno, I look at the points as a bonus that flows from normal everyday transactions. If I directly purchased points - my view would be different.

Don't worry, those points have been paid for by someone - built into the price we pay somewhere.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Any suggestions for 330 SCs out of MEL ? I have the DSC (for once in my life lol) so only really need 165 SCs.
Would rather do cash fares (trying to build up point balance) and happy to do >1 flight if that is what it takes.

Cheers

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

What is your budget?

You can get 160 SC's by doing an MEL-xSYD-OOL return in Business for $1340 - earns 5K QFF points.

Also 160 for MEL-xAKL return for $1150 on the current sale (end Friday) - earns 7.4K QFF points.

May drop in price if QF match the VA J sale.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

here's one for those in the know. QF ticketed, QF flight numbers on EK metal, do those count as QF flights for QF P1 SC qualification?
