Re: Best Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

Just booked my first ever status run for 22nd June to qualify me for WP before DSC ends on 30th June. Red-e-deal MEL-ASP and a JASA ASP-ADL-MEL for a total of 115 SCs which will double to 230 and tip me over the last 220 I need for WP :)

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Hey all,

I know that this is a sticky thread, but I can't find anywhere else more appropriate to post, and I see that the thread seems to be continuous anyway. Just wanna say that this whole SC chasing thing became a mild obsession for me since I ended up owning a couple of full price J tix SYD LHR. I suspected that they might get me somewhere closer to a higher QF status, and as it turns out (from research ont his site), I became obsessed enough to find a JASA SYD-BNE-TSV, and then a J LAN SYD-AKL so that by the time I leave LHR coming home from LHR I will be SG. And I will have had a conveniently happy trip to TSV and AKL to visit friends to boot.

Anyway, thanks for the tips FF locals and look fwd to running into people around the traps.

SH

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Nearly finished my combined SC/MR runs, sitting in the Hilton Adelaide exec lounge now.

Started on Thursday evening I flew to BNE in discount Y from ADL for 15SC's and stayed at the Hilton Brisbane
Then Friday I flew BNE-MEL-PER-KTA-PER for 260SC's and stayed at the Parmelia Hilton
Saturday I flew PER-MEL-BNE for 140SC's and again stayed in the Hilton Brisbane
Today I flew BNE-SYD-ADL in full Y for 50SC's and as said above am now in the Hilton Adelaide.

465SC's got me over the line to QF SG and when the DSC's get credited I'll be sitting at 1240

So where to from ADL to get the remaining 160SC's for WP? (My DSC offer ends 30 Jun)

I might try and write a trip report on this at some stage in the future, It was a fun experience and I had no problems along the way!

ADL TSV and back would be best, 240 SC One way with DSC, 60 in Y coming back which then puts you over the loyalty bonus triggering an extra 8k earn.

I had a friend I hadn't seen in quite a while to catch up with.

I'm sure an opportunity to cross paths will arise again :)

Re: Best Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

So I picked up Mel-Adel-DRW for 54k points in mid June on JASA... 120 sc is not bad value don't you think? Now for some croc spotting!

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

I have to say I am very grateful for this thread. Based on the 1st page examples I have booked the following JASA's in June

Trip 1 - Melbourne - Hobart - Sydney - Brisbane - Townsville - Brisbane - Melbourne (MEL-HBA & TSV-MEL discount economy)
Trip 2 - Melbourne - Sydney - Alice Springs - Sydney - Melbourne

With DSC's on offer this will give me 960 points for 3 days worth of flights, plus WP and leaving me only 500 points short of LTG.

Good times :)
