I need 315 SC's: I can travel anytime July 29-August 5 from YYZ/BUF/DTW.

I have found YYZ-CLT-DFW-PHX-SEA-PHX-DFW-YYZ for about CA$1350 and 400 SC's.

Any better suggestions?

I am happy to go almost anywhere: other years I have gone to PTY, SJU and BNA.

Thanks
Sorry. The price for YYZ-CLT-DFW-PHX-SEA-PHX-DFW-YYZ was US$1350, or about CA$1800.

Any suggestions for a better run?

Thanks

I'm 90SC short from hitting Silver and would appreciate any recommendations to reach it. Rollover date is 31 Dec 2019 and based in BNE.

I've been looking out for cheap flights but haven't found any yet...

Really not worth chasing Silver. Within Australia $8-10/SC is good value.
If wanting Qantas benefits you'd be better off purchasing Qantas Club membership

Oh, that's a shame. Guess I'll try again next year and aim for Gold.

Does QC membership - or PS for that matter - have any preferred access to awards seats? I'm also at a point where I could consider spending $600 and get one or the other.

I don't believe either get any award related benefits/priority.

QC is the better choice if you fly predominately QF from ports with Qantas operated/associated lounges
PS is hard to justify spending $600 on, I'd only consider it if you will be flying often on other oneworld carriers which extend additional benefits to OWR (e.g. CX offering free exit row seat selection)

Is the NOU status run still good value?

I am in NTL so could position to SYD or BNE.
From my understanding that loop hole is closed or not as good as it used to be (certainly not as good as 1.3k for 800 SCs). There seems to be at times good value to do a DPS run.
How many SCs would you be after?

Hi all.
Thinking of doing a SC run MLB-AKL in Oct. QF153 is an A330 arr AKL 17:20. A return A330 flight QF158 also A330 dep 18:45. Was wondering if anyone knows if this is normally the same hardware? Ie. a tight turnaround but if same plane then it may not matter if I get are late?
Recognising of course that anything to do with planes can change on the day. :)

A check of FR24 shows every day from today back to 9th July this has been the same plane doing QF153 and then doing QF158.

I don't have an account in FR24 to go back any further

Might have to book as separate sectors due to MCT even when you’re coming and leaving on the same aircraft. Had this issue recently.

It usually is. You just have to check if you have buy both legs within the same ticket. I’m unsure if the system would let you.
Otherwise try to buy them separately, but let staff know about it.

Also may be good to check if you can stay airside. I know previously when EK used to operate trans Tasman people were able to stay airside but just check.

I’m assuming no dramas if you are on carry on and you can check in online through the QF app.

@motef @flyingfan @Silvia
thanks peeps, good to know. Some things i'd not thought of. I may book it just to manufacture some excitement, see if it helps me justify the spend :) Will the plane change? Will I be able to avoid security on return? Will I have to stay overnight!!?
Mind you Villa Maria winery is just 10mins taxi from the airport. Maybe I'll just get a red-eye and go there for the day :)

Hi all.
Thinking of doing a SC run MLB-AKL in Oct.

MLB is in Florida, USA and is a relatively small airport. Any status runs to AKL would require minimum two stops, as there are no direct flights to places like IAH or LAX that have nonstop flights to AKL. Options on Oneworld are limited without going via Australia. On AA/QF, one option would be MLB-CLT-LAX-SYD-AKL. Are you sure this is what you meant ?

Red eye flight, Villa Maria then mini golf.
Back to Airport, another bubbly. Sorted. Throw in an apple and its the perfect day. Travel, culture, exercise, diet, sleep.
So good that maybe the Department of Health should start subsidizing these trips

Hey everyone, I've got my flights booked in QF until September and will be making 1135 SC by end of September. My anniversary date is 31 Dec. So that gives me another 3 months to get to QF Plat for the first time.

Any recommendations on status runs to get the remaining 265 SC ?? I'm planning to make use of the next DSC to book my flights.

I did some research and have found

1. MEL-ADL--SYD-CHC one way for A$1400 with 180 SC, doubles for 360 SC
2. SYD-CHC-SYD return for A$980 with 160SC, doubles for 320 SC

Any other recommendations? I'm thinking I'd be happy to spend less that A$1000, not more. because all my trips are necessary, but self-funded :)
