This was discussed one or two pages back also..

Managed to get SYD-SIN later in the year for $1400 Ret. whY up (A330) and PE back (A380 exit row seats). Reasonably ok for 180 SCs and a cheeky long weekend away.

I didn't think it was possible to get a mixed class fare but now ticketed and paid!

I'd like to take advantage of the DSC offer but I have no firm travel plans so would like to do a mileage run to get me to Gold asap. I need 195 SCs so what do you suggest would be my best/cheapest domestic run over a weekend? Starting from Mel.
Assuming no cost requirements, MEL-xSYD-OOL in J and return in discount Y for 40+40 / 10+10 doubled to 200 SC

So far I've found MEL-OOL Via SYD flex 40 one way, business 80 one way, so total 120 for $997 ( with the promo would be 240 sc) , which equates to $4.15 per credit. Still trying to find something cheaper :)

I haven't looked for a while but you might want to check out MEL-xBNE-DRW with one-way in J and the other discount Y.

(It's nice to see someone checking previous posts or looking for themselves rather than just asking.)

I'm looking at a cheap & easy DSC run with no overnight.. Trying to set up for WP this year.

Want to spend as little as possible. Was looking at SYD-MEL-CNS-BNE-SYD. 100 return including the DSC. Can get it for $357, but with a $200 Amex credit, just $157.

Can't imagine I'll find anything better, but posting here for confirmation or suggestions.

Thanks!

What are the rules about domestic connections tags on international flights? In particular, does a flight have to be in the 24 hours prior to the international flight to get the significantly discounted domestic connection?

Internationally, more then 24 hours between connecting flights on the one booking is considered a stopover.

24 hours or less and it can be a transit.

Some years ago I wanted to book MEL-xPER-SIN on an award, with MEL-PER 7pm and PER-SIN 2pm next day - award space was available. The Qantas web site would only offer same day. So I booked and then called QFF and at no charge was able to swap to the flight the day before. There was comment regarding the difference between domestic and international rules.

BTW, the PER-SIN flight was on a 332.

Ah ok thanks .I'm thinking a multi city transit before an intl - does that all have to be within 24h for example? Or just not have a 24h gap?

Hi all, a little last minute so apologies... I need to book flights chasing approx 5/600 SC incl the bonus. I had flights lined up with an agent today but Qantas pulled the fares :( I could travel to AKL in May or August but am pretty flexible. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Is anyone willing to share their experience in doing an immediate turnaround at Noumea?
Doing this in late March, the word on the FFA facebook page is that you should be able to just go through the transit lane then ask for the boarding pass at the gate but would like to hear of anyone's experience also.

Thanks Billt - appreciate the info and suggestion, I managed to find a SYD-NOU route with some domestic stops which will work this time! Thanks again.

The Amex travel website had that price (which I had to use because I was using the voucher). I use Google Flights to plot same day returns. It’s not always the most accurate, but it gets pretty close, and much easier to see dates on a timeline.

QF announced MEL-DPS flights today, and I've noticed that SYD-xMEL-DPS is now a valid routing :) :) :)

320SC return for $1755 comes to a respectable $5.48/SC, or if someone's recently gifted you $50 of magical QF credit, $2.74/SC!!!
