Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview! [not the discussion thread]

Yes. Mine was a two sector trip. The bonus SC credited around 48 hours after the first segment. The bonus SC for the second segment are you to credit, but there was a weekend... so I'll give it another day or so.
UPDATE: DSCs have posted for both sectors. DSC for the second sector took 6 days (minus two days for the weekend).

I need to make up 155 points to make platinum (if I can't work some magic with my existing bookings...) - any ideas on runs out of either Sydney or London?

Flyinghigh76, doesn't seem to be any good deals on airfares at the moment, so waiting for a Business Class deal might be the go, plenty of time.

Thanks for the reply. Where would one find these said deals for business class or is it just a Matter of putting alerts in Qantas app etc? Sorry if this is a silly question but new to this

if you haven't already, sign up for the Red eMail offers (at the link above). App Alerts are a good idea also as there are often 'flash sales'. I saw SYD-HKG Ret the other day for $499 (albeit in whY) - but still a very good deal.

There are also good email offers from Finnair, Qatar, AirBerlin. AA has a fare alert sign up but I never get anything useful from them...

Great advice, I am signed up to some but not all of the ones mentioned. Thanks again

Doing a trial run via MH in September

DPS-KUL return in J for $320 / 120sc = $2.66 per SC

Will update once the SC hit my account!

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Morning all, just had a work trip cancelled that would have got me over the line for WP requal.
Need 400 SC by end of year.
Have looked online for some of these cheap D class MH flights ex BKK but cannot find any that are discussed for the THB 10k level.
If anyone happens to stumble on any I would appreciate a heads up (and obviously I will need to coincide with classic reward positioning flights).

MA is Hungarian Airlines. Did you mean MH? The super cheap ones come around few times per year. I was waiting for one too but end up booking a "full price" DPS-KUL.

I am still happy with the double status run from Perth-Sydney-Los Angeles and return for 1440 status credits.
We have the A330 business suite and the A380 for the long haul and then the 747 to get to New York.
The upgrade fairy has helped so we each have a spa treatment booked. Thank you Qantas...it makes a business trip more comfortable in August.

Interesting in getting WP from zero in 1 trip like this , if you config the day right you could enjoy WP in 2 years , we donr travel much but it could help getting in all the first lounge in around the world trip . How much did you pay for this ticket cove ?

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I think it was around $6,700 for that business class run from Perth to New York and return with stops.I picked off A330 Suites and used Alicia Clark to book this. Then the upgrade fairy worked hard and I used 56,500 QF points for the upgrade to First. I had a back massage in the First lounge in Sydney. We were picked up at the kerb in Sydney and were fast tracked which was lovely by a Qantas concierge. Mrscove had the same treatment and was very impressed.

Your kerbside meet, was that after arriving from Perth or had you stopped over in Sydney?
