re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Hi Guys,

Can someone double check these for obvious errors, but I am pretty sure they are right. The first 3 are 1 day possible trips. I used $0.80 for the conversion.

DFW-PHX-SEA-PHX-DFW 360SC $824 $2.28/SC A$2.86/SC
DFW-CLT-FLL-CLT-DFW 260SC $639 $2.46/SC A$3.07/SC
LAX-ORD-MIA-ATL-DFW 290SC $685 $2.36/SC A$2.95/SC
LAX-ORD-MIA-ATL-MIA-ORD-LAX 500SC $1084 $2.17 (think that was AUD) - Can also do this from LAS. LAS has luggage lockers for 48 hrs so you can drop and do the runs for 2 days HLO (hand luggage only for noobs like me )

Thanks

Moin

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Try Europe with UL via CMB. Look at your favorite load reporting website and bid for an upgrade to I class on one or more of the longish sectors.

Happy wandering

Fred

Very interesting indeed - thanks all! Between UL and JAL domestic J I might be tempted to regain QF WP!

If you can get to CMB, Qatar regularly runs really good J MR ex-CMB (include CAI for bonus cheap F points)

Earning 115 QF status credits by 31 August 2015 - any suggestions?

Hi
I have been fortunate to have 2 overseas flights in the past year and have 185 status credits. I would like to gain Silver status by 31 August. What is the cheapest way to obtain them?

Hi well first thing is you only need another 15 Scs to attain Silver level.

Secondly, from where will you commence your travel? That will let us help you choose the appropriate flight.

It will cost you somewhere in the region of $1,000 if starting from within Australia and is unlikely to be worth it when compared with, for example, a Qantas Club membership.

A member requires 300 SC to gain PS for the first time, or 250 to requalify.

Sorry, I have only 185 status credit points and am in Brisbane.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Looks like I will be 80SC short or renewing WP this year. Requal date is 31 Jul and I have two weeks off starting next Tuesday. Any good deals to achieve the Status. I'm Sydney based. I assume the LAN runs are no good anymore?

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I flew on LA SYD-AKL-SYD last year in J for 40 SC each way.

Edit: Approx $US600+, return fare.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Coming up at just under $780 AUD. A night at the Ibis budget at AKL for $100. Might be a plan with an early F lounge visit and a trip on a 787

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Any good deals to achieve the Status.
A deal but not necessarily a good deal is to head off on the 6:45am to MEL and take the following route:
SYD-xMEL-LST Y Flex
LST-xMEL-xSYD-OOL Y Red-E
OOL-SYD Y Red-E

80 SC for $616. I'm not sure but you might find you're on the same plane all day as the turnarounds are short.

You could also look at:
SYD-MEL 10/20/40 SC for Red-E/Flex Y/J
MEL-xSYD-OOL 20/40/80
OOL-SYD 10/20/40

combining JQ (bundles) to bring the cost down.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

LA FRA-MAD return in Biz $192 USD.

787 Dreamcatcher. Open until end of August with one-ways possible at circa half price. Must ticket before June 29.

120 SCs at $1.6/SC (USD) if crediting to QF.

For those considering status runs, this is deemed non-schengen so you will need to clear customs/immigration at each end.

I posted this in the International Airfares section as well..

Hi everyone,

I need 60 status credits by end-August to retain Gold. I am considering either this option, which would net 80 status credits and let me try out both LA and the B787 for the first time, or a domestic run. I have received the 50% status credit bonus offer so for the latter I was looking at SYD-OOL return on a $458 Flex fare, earning 40 status credits + 50% bonus = 60 status credits.

Am open to any other suggestions. Thanks :)

If cost is important rather than time then you could do:
SYD-xMEL-LST return in discount Y for $377

Thanks for the suggestion but how did you get $377 return for this routing? A random weekend in July is costing up at $388 one-way. Also, what does the 'x' in xMEL mean?
