I'm going to be in MIA in late January next year for a conference. LATAM are having a pretty good sale to various spots in South America earning ~$5/SC in J, but keen to see if there are other bright ideas. I never been to south America, and only been to a couple spots in north america (NY, Hawaii, Seattle) so could be easily convinced to go anywhere ...

I think you might struggle to find a decent run originating in MIA as it's a major AA centre. LATAM might be your best bet.

I got a email about a promotion but I thought it said the DSC only applied to domestic portions of a larger booking to EU? If I'm reading it wrong and it's DSC for all domestic bookings then that's great news.

Do you have flexibility with flights to/from the conference? UL/QR are doing some amazing fares from CMB to the US if you don't mind going the long way around the world. CMB-DOH-MIA RT in J for $2500 & 480SC. Just need to find flights to CMB.. food for thought!

Excellent I found a MEL-BNE-DRW-ADE-MELB routing in J for 260sc so with the DSC it's 520 and I will comfortably get there ...worked out at $4.14 per SC

Poo.

Not for me.

Yes indeed have already been looking at that route. Was now looking for fun things to do either side ;)

Points plus pay still around, but quite expensive alternative
Points plus pay books into eligible fare buckets; if you have been targeted for this week's double SC's and have registered then if a PNR is created by Friday then any QF operated and marketed flights within the travel period so booked would earn x 2.

Have received DSC offer, and have gone round in circles looking for international to retain WP by 30/11/17.(need the full 1200)
As I'm having a senior moment and not thinking clearly...can someone confirm... if for instance I delayed travel until 'new year' ie Dec 17 would my status be until 30/11/19...ie year of and next year also....I realise that I'd need 1400SC...(Per- AUK rtn in flex business is 740 with DSC for $3300 approx
Appreciate any help....

If you fly/earn 1200 SCs before 30/11/17 (assuming you have none this membership year), you will keep your WP status until 30/11/18. It will expire after that date unless you earned another 1200. If you let your WP status lapse, you will need 1400 to earn it again.

If you let your status lapse this year, then if you fly and earn your status after 01/12/17, then your status will last until 30/11/19, but you need to earn 1400 SCs.

Thank you.....but what I needed to confirm was that if it expired 30/11/17...and I achieved 1400 SC in say Dec 17 would i then be WP until 30/11/19

Yes, since you're earning it in your "2018" membership year, you will retain it until 30/11/19

$2780 return from Perth - Noumea in business flex. 840 status credits with the DSC promo. Probably your best bet.

Anything decent out of MEL, assuming that I have access to DSC? I roll over at the end of September, so would like a nice earner.
