Melbourne > Brisbane > Cairns seems to earn a few points especially on the Flexi fare. e.g. $457 for 60 points making it $7.62 a SC. Good value or?

Yes, MEL-BNE-CNS is one of the best one-stop routes you can do if based in MEL. I've done it up and back in J on Double Status Credits. (60 + 60 + 60 + 60) * 2 = 480 SC (including DSC) is pretty good.

MEL-SYD-OOL is also good value.

Recently finished a status run on AA. Wondering what is the current experience of a reasonable time for the credits to post to the QF account?

It’s been over a week and nothing yet. Hopefully, asking the question here will make them suddenly appear without having to do the manual requests…

Last year my AA flights posted within a couple of days. I'd give it another week then submit the manual requests.

Hello Tonkatough, our AA flights in July this year posted within two business days. Hope you see the same response time.

Anyone know good status run options while being US based? Need to gain 860 status credits to maintain platinum by October 31st! Currently based in Washington DC.

Edit: Annoying thing is I'll only have weekends to fly.. due to work M-Fri so not sure if this is possible without blowing $.

No DSC offer here and a friend and I are both about 400 shy of requal for WP and didn't want to rely on requal fairy.

Just booked SYD-BKK YASA and MH BKK-KUL-MNL-KUL-BKK

Cost $810 for 240SC for MH and we get 70 SC YASA for points and pay (I paid ~$500 and ~90k points)

Add the new ANZ CC 75 SC and we are almost there

We are thinking of it as as half status run and half boys weekend over Oct long weekend.

Accomodation dirt cheap. Staying at MNL airport hotel for $54 ($84 less QF $30 voucher) and Hilton Millenium in BKK for $125 pn twin. As a diamond HH that means free drinks and breakfast, and of course the minimum 6 lounges on the way including SYD F

If you are US based maybe SG is enough considering that AA new Flagship lounges are accessible to OW Saphire. This way you only need 260SC to get SG.
A weekend in PTY would give you 270SC:

defurax, Thankyou so much! However am I not mistaken that there is soft landing so I should reach gold regardless?
I'm still thinking keeping OWE would be ideal since I do intend to make the occasional trip to the UK and Australia every year!

Wonder if there are any other options to maintain it in the timeframe...

I don't know about the soft landing from WP to SG, but others here will surely be able to confirm.

Qantas offers a soft landing. There is no requirement for minimum QF flights or previous SC count. If you fail to qualify for your current level you just drop down one tier each year.

Brilliant, Do you guys still think numerous PTY flights are still the best option?

Thanks so much for your help again!

If you want to really maximise your weekend, you could fly to YYZ on the Friday evening (DCA-PHL-YYZ). Then on the Saturday YYZ-ORD-MIA-PTY and Sunday PTY-MIA-MCO-DCA. That will get you 360 SC. You might be able to sqeeze in an extra stop between ORD and MIA to make it 400SC. That should cost you around USD1350.

So I waited.....and waited.......nothing after two weeks.
Submitted the manual request, all 11 flights. Credited within 2 days.
Seems you need to work for your SC's - these are true SC's earned..!

It turns out I need not have worried....or even bothered registering for the DSC offer or looking for SC options.
I was worried about regaining P1 or even slightly worried about retaining WP a few weeks back when I realised that it was becoming impossible to fly QF internationally because of the lack of WIFI capability in long haul causing me real business issues but I need not have worried. I just looked at my SC and realised I will retain WP this Friday afternoon after only 10 1/2 weeks since my roll over date without a single international flight just on my recent flying pattern.

Looking for 245 SC in a single to hit platinum in the next 4 months. Was thinking J to Bali, but wondering if there's any other options I'm missing? Ideally travel end of October/Early Nov for a week.
