I am back from my SR consisting of:
1. CBR-SYD no hot towel (but I didn't expect it on such a short hop)
2. SYD-HBA did get a hot towel
3. HBA-SYD no hot towel - same plane, same crew.
4. SYD-CBR no hot towel (but again I did not expect it)

Hot towels and hand towels available on syd-cns-syd b767 services this week

As it was on two of the four services travelled yesterday - two separate CSMs, one for the first two legs, same CSM for the second two legs (no hot towels). Am thinking it may be at the discretion of the CSM which does not help with consistency of the experience?

Today I had ADE-BNE with hot towel.

And BNE-TSV with no hot towel.

My routing was SYD-BNE, and BNE-TSV with hot towel (same CSM), and TSV-BNE, BNE-SYD(same CSM) no hot towel - did the same SR the previous week and hot towel on all sectors. Surprised ckck only got offered one one of the two sectors with the same crew. Am thinking there is a lack of policy consistency?

Might pay to ask when you are not offered a hot towel and/or when you get a friendly CSM ask about the hot towels and if they are indeed getting phased out

Hot towels were on OOL -SYD.........and reading this thread I expected they wouldn't be

Doing the same today so will be interesting to see....

Did SYD-MEL-SYD on Tues/Weds and got hot towels southbound only. QP J had the diner going yesterday evening with Tacos... looked not much different to what you would expect out of a Old El Paso box...

Tacos on a domestic J flight? They really are seeking inspiration from random places. I love tacos but on a domestic flight? Pfft.

7th Jan MEL-BNE no towel
7th Jan BNE-TSV no towel
14th Jan TSV-BNE in Y no comment did not see them delivered from row 5
14th Jan BNE-MEL Hot towel provided

Cloth hand towels in lavatories all flights, though MEL-BNE and BNE-MEL flights were in the 738's with new overhead bins and no curtains, so Y pax emptied the lavatory cloth towel supply half way through flight, and managed to flood sink and urinate on the seat, which i subsequently took it upon myself to clean.

I think it is very disappointing to hear of people talk about change in a negative way.

oh wait... should i attribute that quote to someone? :p

CSM on last flight indicated they would be returning. I assume feedback has been negative...

MEL-SYD-MEL in J : no hot towel on either. One was a breakfast flight the other a 5.30pm 'refreshment' flight.

SYD-ASP-SYD in J : no hot towel on either. Disappointing as a hot, or at least a wet towel when boarding from the desert heat to pat down the sweaty face might be quite appreciated. No such luck! By the way the food on this leg was disappointing, essentially both flights offer the same thing even though one is described as refreshment and the return is a lunch.
