While i understand the premise of this thread is removal of a service option, and that should of course be discouraged, I almost always eschew use of those hot towels - i usually find them quite 'icky', and do not like using them.

They definitely don't stay hot for long!

Was there ever two hot towel services on international services in J? Flew SYD - SIN and was only provided hot towels at the start of the flight. Amazing how MH can then provide two hot towel services on the SIN - KUL sector which is only a 40 min flight (and a similar length QF Dom J flight provides no hot towels)!

My recent TK flight IST-KUL. There were at least three hot towels offered. After takeoff, after the first meal, and before the second meal.

The shorter flights had at least one.

On an EK flight between DXB and Australia there are so many hot towels offered that you just know that at some point they're being recycled :)

Unfortunately on the TK flight I saw the used towels being thrown out. Well I should saw, being put in a plastic bag. Hopefully they will be recycled as they were of better quality than the QF ones.
