Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

re. Giaconda.
I managed to get some, but absolutely think their website is atrocious when purchasing.

On mobile, I got to purchasing page, entered 4 Chard and 2 PN. Wouldn't tally a total. Page crashed, refreshed, refreshed, refreshed. Total appeared, details filled in, couldn't tick to accept T&Cs. Crashed, refresh, refresh, refresh... CC hit and email. Website never recovered....
U scored the PN? Man- you must have been 8:01am Congrats

I see the Neldner 2022 Shiraz is up on Winestar at $23. I’ve tasted (and liked) the 2021, how does this compare to?
I felt 2022 was slightly more elevated than 2021 (in particular nose and structure), but Tony Love is on crack for giving it 98 points.
Glen Eldon Twisted Trunk Reserve Shiraz 2024 is out at Skye Cellars, $210/6 until sometime on Friday.
Or you can get 2 in this mixed $148.80 6-pack
Thank you, will dabble.

IMO Wine pilot scores way too high
If average wines score mid to high 90’s, there is nowhere to move.
Reminds me of an Italian critic, Luca Maroni who basically scores everything 98-99.
It becomes meaningless.
The Different Drop YouTube channel made fun of this trend by having a tasting session with scores out of 110

I wouldn't be surprised if there was grandfathering for very long standing, en primeur customers. I can't see how it would work otherwise, say as Rockford does with Stonewallers, given the lottery. Pinot appeared to sell out first, so a bottle of anything is just luck.
Except Rockford produce a truck load of wine and the BP is not as limited as people think. Anyone can go there in March and pick up as much as they want...

I have to say i think (as someone who works in an organisation with ecomm) that this is unlikely. They aren't a huge corporation and investing heavily in ecomm infrastructure that can hold up to massive demand for what is ultimately one single day a year (and for a relatively small output/revenue) is probably a big ask. Those services cost a significant amount of money and they aren't a massive producer. I think you have to give them a bit more credit because there are plenty of businesses that have gone the other way and gone to ballot systems with massively jacked up prices to take advantage of huge demand and collector hype (I'm looking at you Sullivan's Cove).
I was buying Sullivan's Cove well before the hype kicked in (pride and joy is some Winter Fest 1 and some early French Casks). Then I was finding that their emails were being caught in my firewall and company's email protocols and by time realised or was release were sold out. So I complained. Wasn't long after they introduced the ballot... and unfortunately too process now so no longer buy.
