exactly...really only way to do this is if the cap is 'coughed' in the bottling or transportation/manual handling process which will then allow oxygen transfer...which otherwise doesn't happen. maybe got a bad batch?
Same deal as above, I had cellared for over a year. First was a MollyDooker and I put it down to bad luck. Next a Thomas Hardy got replaced by the winery with a later vintage when I gave them the receipt. Most recent was a Meshach which Grant Burge didn’t seem to care about, said it should still be drinking fine. I think all were cork but can’t be certain.
 
went to BWS to collect a discounted Moss Wood and previous post was right- they are held upright away from sun, close to counter, in a locked cabinet with their other fine wines. So not too sure if under stelvin how it can be cooked. Obviously other stores may have different location of the cabinet, but doubt it is going to be sitting in the sun given counter areas are never next to the windows.
 
What states are people in who have experienced corked wine from BWS.
I've bought several premium wines from them over the years which I've been cellaring and now a bit worried (I'm in Victoria)

I am from Melbourne too. Just drinking a 2016 Shadrach from BWS which is perfect.

This conversation about oxidised and corked wine doesn't make sense. Let's be clear here to start. Oxidised is not corked and vice-versa.

A wine isn't going to get oxidised from standing in a store. There will either be a closure fault or a fault at bottling.

Corked wine is a wine affected by TCA, usually from a cork closure. However, you can get TCA affected wines from screw caps if the barrel was affected. Had this happen at a tasting a few months ago. Couldn't believe it actually.

Edit: I should add a store could damage a Stelvin closure which could allow air ingress and hence oxidise the wine.

I opened a 2017 Moss Wood last night to test the theory and it was fine…no faults, but it didn’t blow me away either. Screwcap.

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with a 2014 Moss Wood recently, especially as it was raved about by multiple critics at the time. Been in good storage since purchased

Agree with Daver that there is a difference between oxidized, cooked and corked wines.

FWIW, I recently had a 2009 Pyrus, bought 6 years ago from a Townsville BWS and then stored in my cupboard and it was brilliant.
 
Diana Madelines are under screwcap.... how are bws managing to oxidise them?

Mystery boxes are now showing up as selling for RRP - eg box#1 is $225 and it says RRP was $225

Does this look like an error (I didn't see how they were showing up before)? A pretty sad mystery box if it's not...

This is how they have been showing for me the entire time. I don't think its meant to say for example " $500 worth for $225. I never saw the $250 box but it was likely to be the box containing $600 RRP.

Excuse my ignorance, as I am still learning about wine, but isn't light strike usually caused by UV light in sunlight? Would the lights in BWS really be giving off enough UV to be able to cause light strike in a red wine bottle?

Edit: I do note your article also refers to visible light of certain wavelengths. Interesting. Still not sure whether it would cause light strike in a red wine bottle.

Lol, I thought ok I'll grab the $225 box and hope it's half price $75 /btl wine.... found out wildcard sale is over! Now even more interested to know what ppl got!
