Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Yeah, sorry about that. BWS Sandringham and Elsternwick Drive Throughs....the Dragons Blood was a good deal at ~$6, plus the Fraser Gallop for $18 and Ata Rangi for $42. ..

Good price. Which vintage were Fraser and Ata?

@year of the roo - found something weird at my local BWS, Lanson Black was listed on the clearance page but it disappeared overnight. Rocked up at the store, they're all there and scanned at the clearance price. Is this a store specific glitch or something else?

Ooo how much? I had to resist @qaz Arras post as I didn't want to pick up 6 bottles. Wouldn't mind adding 2 or 3 bottles of Lanson into the fridge as I think we only have one left.

Wow! I love Lanson, but can't find any clearance here in Victoria.
Are you happy to share the location?

Yes i can explain what happened there. Lanson was removed from the range at this particular store at the last review. It didn't sell out until it reached the price you see. It has now been reinstated with that previous price still attached. It will eventually revert back to full price in the next few days.

Had this pop up on my Facebook feed this morning - 15% discount when buying wine from Vivino today...

Today Only! Use coupon code ONA15 to save an extra 15% off your order
Valid September 4th, only for first time Vivino buyers

except an unavoidable $20 delivery as always :(

Hasn't opened yet :)

online stores don't close?

Hope you didn't buy at BWS yesterday as I told you 20% cashback today with CR.

afaik there was never any 20% Cashrewards sitewide planned for today

For the record, I work for Dans :) But am near the bottom of the ladder - in fact if I stand on tippy-toes I can see above me, just above my reach the first rung :)

But am also an avid customer (I spend far more with them than I earn), so I might just use my internal position to try to get to the people who actually manage this. It is just ridiculous that perhaps Australia's foremost retailer of wines, etc provides such a tedious online experience...

so you both work with Woolworths/Endeavour? now we just need someone from Langton's :)

Has anyone bought directly from Saltram? The code "saltram25" gives you $25 off first purchase plus 10% off and free delivery if you sign up as a member (free).

I'm thinking a bottle of Angaston Road Shiraz for $38 delivered might be the go unless anyone else spots a better deal?

Hi guys,
Not a specific deal but I thought I check to see if any one tried Heathcote estate Shiraz? Any good?
Nick's had a good review but DM customer review is bad. Cellar tracker had a better notes though.
Wondering if you guys had good experience in this wine. Thanks

Thank you. Wondering how does it compare to other wines? I love Jasper Hill and wild duck though. Hopefully others can help comment on this notes too. Thanks

I haven't really liked the Heathcote Estate Shiraz since Yabby Lake took over. They seem to be picking a little earlier, lower alcohol, but less ripeness and palate weight. More cool-climate style.

Bought 6 Arras Rose 2006 on clearance at BWS recently. Once home, saw that one bottle had label faded from pink to white, so likely exposed to sun/heat on shelf maybe. Put it in fridge first, and unsurprisingly it’s dead, tasted weak and astringent. Anyone know if I can take it back to any BWS for refund, or only store I bought it from? I travelled far for this ‘bargain’ but don’t want to repeat trip for 1 bottle.

Thanks! This info is great.
Yes, I have been surprised with other Heathcote wineries before too - hence a bit careful what I buy now. I was expecting a bigger ripen Shiraz coming from Heathcote but it seems this one is not. Cheers! 👍

Heathcote Estate is nothing like the WDC Shiraz. HE is a leaner style, picked earlier, 13.5-14.0%, WDC picked a lot riper, 15+%, bigger in fruit and tannin. Jasper Hill Georgias Paddock somewhere in between, more refined, but still picked riper for about 15% a/v. I buy WDC.

Shopback is offering 20% cash back Max $20 + free delivery over $100 for Liquorland today between 12-4pm. But Liquorland usually much much higher price, but I find a few already discounted might worth the purchase with the cash back.
Current price below.
Macallan 12 double cask $110
Piper Heidsieck $44
Penfolds Max $25
Langmeil blockbuster Shiraz $20
Pepperjack $18

A lot of LL prices seem to have gone up since last night though. I was watching Cazanove brut 2007, went from $55 to $75. And Mumm Rose from $50 to $80.
