Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Nothing on Langton's website yet about the value mix. To be honest that list from last year doesn't exactly set my world on fire so maybe for the best.

Just got an email today from James Dominguez Cellars
Secret Wine # 112 @ $32.49
: Small batch fermentation with extended post-fermentation maceration, matured in new and used French barriques.
Deep, verging on inky, colour foretells a mysterious bouquet, travelling in a nether-world of black fruits, exotic spices and copious amounts of dark matter defying description; the palate eases up to a degree, not confronting, its balance and length quietly calming you, but still promising an ever-interesting path in coming decades."

97 Points James Halliday

Looks like it's this, from a Seppelts blurb -
Mount Ida Heathcote Shiraz 2013 - 97 points James Halliday
“Deep, verging on inky, colour foretells a mysterious bouquet, travelling in a nether-world of
black fruits, exotic spices.” – James Halliday

$44.65 at DM Seppelt Mount Ida Shiraz

I'm not interested but posted FYI

Or I'd think about it as 3 x Black label at $20 each + 3 x quaffers at around $7 each when you include WISH card + cashrewards discounts.

I just got an emails from Langtons saying
":The 99-point Dry Red Wine No. 1 led the line but not for very long, selling out in minutes and setting the bar very high early in 2018"

Does anybody know what it was being sold for?
cheers
PS: Bought no wine in January as well!

Dans has got the Penfolds RWT Shiraz 2015 for $119, today only. I'm not a big Penfolds buyer so unsure whether it's a good deal or not. Thoughts?

Penfolds RWT $119 at Dan Murphys. Today only. Halliday 97 pts. Buy one and put it away for at least a decade. Don't forget WISH card/cashwrewards (if they actually pay out that is!)

But there may be a cheaper option available to some of you. Note that this item is available from the Dan Murphy's Ebay site for the same price. The difference may be that if you purchased the Ebay gift cards available from Woolworths earlier this month at the 15% discount they were available for then purchasing via the Ebay site would be more prudent (including some flybuys points if you've linked your Ebay account + some virgin points if you go in via the estore link eBay Australia - Earn Velocity Points you can redeem on Everyday Items). And as usual, you should check to see if there are any Ebay discount codes around - try PICK5 for another 5 dollars off. Price will then be around $96.

Cellar One have a voucher code for $30 off that expires today, which when combined with the $25 referral credit for new members, gives a total discount of $55 - feel free to pm me for the code, an invitation and/or suggestions - sample pre-discount prices are here :)

20% off certain "tech" stores on eBay at the moment, and Grays Online counts - many wine options. The code is: P20TECH

Not sure what the cashback options are at the moment, time will tell whether CR does anything useful.

Thanks for the heads up. Nothing stands out too much on my radar in the reds, but the Port Phillip Mornington Peninsular Estate Chardonnay for $24/bottle I would think is good buying in a six.

94 from Gary Walsh (who knows his chardy):

"Stonefruit, wheatgerm, spice, fresh pineapple, intense ripe grapefruit flavour and acidity cut through, with a milky and lightly chalky texture, and pow pow powerful finish. And that’s about all you need to know, I think. Ripper".
