Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Thanks AC - will check them out!

Not RWT? :)

It was either Command or RWT - unfortunately I didn't keep any notes back then. RWT was definitely available on QF - Command I'm not so sure about - I probably had that down on Terra Firma now I think about it a bit more. I can't remember which came first.

Now... which is better?

Now... which is better?

I wouldn't say that one is better per se - there's no empirical, quantitative measurement for "wine quality" :)

Command is single-vineyard and RWT is a blend, so there's a point of difference straight away. As a value proposition though, I'd have to favour Command over RWT these days - RWT pricing has shot through the roof, and unless you can get it at a substational discount to RRP, the Command seems much better value IMHO.

Two days post surgery and I decided it was time to test the taste buds/nose and crack a bottle of red. The Maverick cab blend is going down beautifully with some fresh baked (home made) sourdough and french cheese. Absolute bargain for $5!

Cracka $30 off min $100 today, "NJ5678P" (from ozbargain).
Boom on Mons Rubra Pinot Noir 2014, Amex $30 and CR, under $20/bottle.

I went for Handpicked wines Heathcote bonus case:
5X 2012 Collections Shiraz.
1X 2013 Regional Selections Shiraz.
All for under $11 per bottle delivered.

I suspect they made typo in the description as the Collections series is significantly more expensive than the Regional. Will be interesting to see what I'll get.

Cracka is half wrong/right.
Description wrong, illustration correct.
Fingers crossed for you. ;)

Heathcote Regional ( the one with the palm) is $34
2012-Shiraz-Regional Selections:Heathcote - Handpicked Wines

Heathcote Collection ( the one with rock/nugget) is $70
2013-Shiraz-Collection:Heathcote - Handpicked Wines

Note: 3 selections that interest me, The pinot I bought, the Heathcote that you bought and the Pertaringa Rifle and Hunt Cab Sav(Mystery).
Too much Shiraz and CS in my cellar, so opt for PN.

I'd rather see it as illustration wrong, Description right ;)
Last time it happened we both cashed in nicely on the No.1 ;)
Get yourself a good lawyer, suggest Mr Get Smart QC, this is NOT Cellarmasters but Cracka.
You WILL get 5 palm Heathcote and 1 nugget Heathcote. :D

Lol

TBH I only noticed the error after making the order so not really fussed about it, it's a good deal anyway.

Is there a cheat sheet for these mystery wines? I have only ventured into the world of mystery wines...today....literally haha

Most of these have come up before.
Otherwise, anything with a Halliday rating is (usually) easy to work out via the Wine Companion site
Anything with a WineFront score can be found via their site (or the WineOSphere app)
Sometimes it's just a matter of pasting stuff into search engines (or the AFF search box) to see what you can find.

In this case, the winemakers notes on the CrackaPage match up to the exact notes from the actual winemaker.
