Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Re: Vinomofo Wine Deals

I currently live about ~5 mins drive from Boccaccio, not sure the shipping is worth much to me, but certainly good for those further afield.

New place is about 35-45 mins away, so would be good once I move.
Hey penegal, far Kew is going to be the old place very soon.
Good luck. Mines getting some sticky fingers raised in the air on the penultimate Chrissy Saturday.

Re: Vinomofo Wine Deals

Picked up 3 x Bests Great Western Bin 1 Shiraz and 3 x Seppelt Chalambar Shiraz for $61 after amex across 2 cards from Boccaccio. Both a handy pick up at $10 p/b, bonus nostalgia for recent tasting day in the pyrenees & great western and hiking weekend in the grampians!

"t’s a better drink and wine than many of its higher-priced offerings."

$14.52 after CR and WC...worth the punt for a 93 and 96 pointer..I.m in

[h=3]Mitolo 7th Son 2014[/h]

McLaren Vale blend of 48% grenache, 45% shiraz, 7% sagrantino. Mitolo hasn’t exactly rocked my boat of late but this is a release worth championing.

You don't subscribe to letting it rest?

Not that it matters as you have said is all gone, but purchased from?

anyone have opinions they wish to share about '10 GB Meshach? I couldn't see anything on wineosphere, CT has 2 reviews by the same person suggesting it is good but may reach its peak by 10 years of age - this does not match what I have read about previous vintages. Winesearcher app says 96 for 2010 but I can't figure out who it's from and Vivino doesn't have any for 2010 that I could see.

what is a good / bargain price for it in a half case?

JH gives the 2010 a 96 with drink by 2035.

Didn't have time to pick up my order from Boccaccio this week in MEL so called to get it shipped home to BNE and they did it for $12 using AusPost, not too bad.

Had the 2009 GB Meshach only 3 weeks ago and it was sublime. Beautifully balanced, great fruit, it was just so damn good. The label said 'big, soft in tannin". Totally agree. Not as big as WD may prefer them, but just quality and finesse alround. The wine is released afte they put it into barrels for 2 years-obviously not totally new ones as the wine does not appear too young, and then let it sit with its mates for another 3 years. This is without doubt ne of my top 6 winese year.

It came with the danny murphys $199 for 7 assorted wines including this one.

As for the 2010, I would only guess that it's going to be a beaut as well, even now.

2010 was considered an excellent year for Barossa Shiraz; so I would buy with some confidence.

I've had a few Meshach this year, the last was the '05 ($85 from Langtons BTW) and it was a fine wine, however, I don't think they are generally worth the RRP when you can pick them up from $55-$100 at Langtons in auction.

I think I will pass on the offer from Cracka after sleeping on it - 6 x '10 delivered for just under $600 - but I was going to explore using multiple amex over the phone (I understand a phone order does not meet the T&C's but this often doesn't matter...) I have access to a few more following another signup and adding supplementary cards potentially bringing it down to about $400 for the 6.

I recently bought 2 cases each of the Innocent bystander 2015 Syrah and 2015 Chardonnay via The Den, and the Syrah arrived but the Chardonnay turned out to be out of stock post ordering, so they are sending the 2016 Chardonnay instead. I've since discovered that the 2016 Chardonnay is the first vintage to be produced out of Brown Brothers, rather than at Giant Steps.

Should I be worried? Can't find any detail about this new vintage or even who the winemaker is!
