Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

You can cheaply buy heat shrink capsules from home brew shops if you wish to tart them up for gifts etc (I recall you saying something along those lines)

I will sample first Steady - if it is somewhere near St Hugo quality I will keep them - will still make labels either way so YES they will need to be dressed.

Mine arrived today - they did say it was being offered as a 'Cleanskin' - they were not kidding:

As big a 'Cleanskin' as Sinead O'Connor - 'Cleanskin' top as well as bottom - well so I read. ;)

Sampling will now not occur now until 1st week October.

As far as Sinead goes she would not be alone on that front (or bottom) Do you have a self-imposed dry September or just not going to be around to partake? I'm curious as always to find out whether the vino is a hit or miss...

Anyone received anything from the fathers day Winery Lane deal?

Orders using a Fathers Day Gift voucher?
Some of my members have received deliveries, some have not as yet.

Their email order/tracking notifications seem to be a bit flakey, but they usually respond quickly to direct emails.

Thats the one. Great to hear! I havent heard anything back from email and was getting a little concerned. Thanks for the help :)

I had'nt heard anything from Winery Lane after 11 days so sent an email (last Friday), they responded very quickly with an informative reply and a tracking number.

(Sold more during the promotion than expected and had to wait on new stock to come in from the wineries etc)

$20 AMEX Credit on $120 spend at Cellarmasters. Could stack with CPANEW for $70 off $170.

With WISH card and 8% cashback this brings:

Filsell 2014
Grey Label Shiraz 2012
Terre a Terre Cab Sav 2013

all down to approx $120 in a 6 pack. Not too shabby.

How would you use a WISH card when you need to pay by AMEX to get the $20 off $120?

Terre a Terre 2013 - GW94, CM95, JH96, at just under $23 a bottle all in is very tempting isnt it?
Yes it is. I've almost bought this wine a couple of times before.. I've just completed my Winestar AMEX order though so I'm trying to be good!

Hi AnonymousCoward, you won't see it on the bottle anywhere. The code is for their internal use only. Normally it would be fixed to the pallet or some sort of 'outer'. Think about it in terms of Corona beer. There are about 20 companies who regularly import it into Australia and DMs buy off probably 2 or 3 of them plus the local manufacturer. All of these companies need to get paid and or pay DMs their rebates and promotional fees, etc, etc. That code is all that differentiates the different manufacturers of the 'same' product. The same codes are applied to wine. I'd suggest it is just poor housekeeping that causes the vintage issues people are complaining about.

This looks tempting, about $10/bottle for "Pee-No Nwah" after all the discounting.
