Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

It's a pretty good deal. Id value the black label at about $70 though.

Got sucked in.

As of 11pm I'm in for 6 x this deal.

3 for myself and 3 for friends.

That's a lot of Wolf Blass to look forward to over the next decade or so.

And I know 3 for your friends isn't only 3 botts.....just over a gorilla on the card thankyou very much !
Thanks to all those comments out there. The summation I get from the wolf stable is that the more you spend on Wolf, the better quality you get. But you must also be prepared to leave the pricier ones alone so that they are given transformation time to become beauties......pedigree again shows up doesn't it when you are charging that premium pricing. You have to back it up ad from a few reviews, both the Wynns and the Wolf wines do just that.
Winemarket I believe sold out of their 6 pack Wolf Greys ONLY at just over $200....so the dannys deals is great value.....they certainly looked great in store. Back in 1988 I had 36 Black labels shipped directly to me and I received 4 etched glasses. The 4 glasses are the only things that survive now .

For those with nothing to do between 4 and 7pm today, Dannys hws a tasting if a new Jacobs creek range....a great marketing name...barossa signature reserve.....highly suggestive at a rrp of $15.70 of a simple, ready to drink now, wood chip infused fruit bomb developed in a chemistry lab. Three variants, shiraz, cab, and the shiraz-cab blend...will be an interesting diversion en route to purchasing some frothies for tomorrow.

I agree, not much to go on. I have done 3 different DM mystery packs now, and although they were 'alwight', I haven't ever been blown away by them (maybe sour grapes, so to speak, for not landing the Grange on those two occasions I did the Grange mystery pack offer!!).

As promised, I popped into my local BWS and politely asked the nice man to price match the label above: the Ata Rangi 13. The polite man politely declined and politely exclaimed that it was an incredible deal he hadn't seen before. He was surprised as he said all deals should be the same all over the country. His only explanation was a special manager deal done by that store.

Oh well. I tried.

I've had this fight with BWS before. Some stores "run out" stock that they're ditching from the range. I have two stores within a few hundred meters of each other and they had champagne at the time at over 100% price difference. They don't match each other. It's fairly dishonest from a large chain.

Collected these this afternoon. Very surprising to see the number of people at the checkout in store purchasing the same deal. DM must have a very large stock pile of the Black Label.

I don't think you can even make an educated guess based on the info provided. Best hope would be that someone has made this purchase already and was willing to share what they got.

Bit worried about the price though as it's listed as '$169.00 per bottle' NOT $169 for the 6 pack!

I got mine last night. Well, apart from the Black Label - they sold out (6 in the store when I checked out, all gone by the time my order was processed, will grab it next week). Their little pickup box was FULL of Wolf Blass boxes, so yes, it was a pretty successful campaign!

That's what I was hoping ie any purchasers revealing.
The $169 per bottle price is just a typo. NOTE: This $169 pack is from WineMarket.

Bought the frothies, tried the three variants. The shiraz was a bit thin for my liking, the cabernet was Ok but seemed a little harsh at the end , but walked out with one bot of the blend. At sixteen dollars, it's not bad and has quality tannins there. This one I will put away for a few years. I know this is not a forum for other companies wine purchasing, but we can really be spoilt out there at under a tenner in places. You know the spots and after walking out the door of dannys, I thought we are all so lucky to be able to do so. Saying that, if you spend a little extra, like the Filsell deal, The wolf deal this week, and the other 6 pack that Dr Ralph recommended, you can't go wrong either. It puts rubbish like the Whitebox Heathcote pair to shame when these cost around fifteen. Like they all say, you have to know your prices.
