Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

The Howards Park Chardy is pretty good buying at under $25 per bottle too

I was at their members tasting on Tuesday night and tried the newly released 2017. It's an excellent wine. I have a friend who buys a dozen each year so at that price, it's an absolute bargain!

Hey everyone! I got sent an email from cracka saying that if you buy this offbrand French champagne:

Buy NV Marcel Martin Tete du Cuvee Cremant de Loire - Cracka Wines | Cracka Wines

You can get it cheaper by using the code MERRYMARCEL

It was only supposed to make it a little bit cheaper--19.99 a bottle in a pack of six, instead of 22.99 or something. BUT what happened when I applied the code was that it took the price down to 9.99 a bottle. I bought them a few days ago and didn't notice at the time, but now I look at the receipt and check my bank balance I can see it! I guess it's a glitch in the website? Anyway, if you're interested in it, it's superb value for $10 a bottle!

EDIT: After checking it again, sure enough if you go all the way to the checkout and then apply the code, it should take $72 off the price instead of the, approximately, $12 that it suggested it would take off.

For those wondering, this is from the Loire Valley, not champagne.
Good find nonetheless.

I just tried the promo code but it is only showing A discount of $13. Maybe they have corrected their mistake. I'm not sure whether to buy it at this price. Hmmm I will think about it.
Thanks for posting the information anyway.

Thanks for the tip. Managed to snag a case earlier today before they fixed it.

To be honest, I wouldn't. At $10 a bottle it's a no brainer, but for $20? It's a nice-enough bottle of fizz, but at $20 you can do a lot better. For example, I rate both of these more:

Taltarni Tirage Brut Cuvée (6-pack) NV

Dovetail Yarra Valley Chardonnay Pinot Noir (6-pack) 2013

They're both nice, dry, sparkling whites, packed with good bubbles. The Marcel Martin, in my opinion--and I'm not sure I had the exact same release--is a little bit flat on the bubbles front. It tastes nice enough, but for $20 you can definitely do better. Just my opinion though! Might have just had a bad case, too.

Oh by the way guys, just as far as general recommendations go: if you've got any kind of voucher for crackawines, they're doing the Giant Steps 2017 Yarra Valley Syrah:

Buy 2017 Giant Steps Yarra Valley Syrah - Cracka Wines | Cracka Wines

I rate everything Giant Steps do in a big, big way, and Cracka seem to get a lot of their stuff. I got a couple of cases of the Pinot Noir earlier in the year too, it's just sensational. Great summer drinking red for shiraz lovers.

Also Vasarelli Pasquale's Selection (6-pack) 2016 is delicious if you like a jammy red, which I adore above all else. I got 18 of the 2015, the latter dozen after my first half-dozen went down so well. I don't know if the 2016 is as good, but its accolades seem to suggest it's keeping the par.

Thanks for your advice. I think I will hold off.

I'll let you know ;). I got it down to around $150 with discount code applied and with 12% cash rewards it comes in at around $130 a dozen with FINALLY* click and collect at my local BWS, very curious to see the mix.....

*first time I've been able to avail myself of it in southern Tas

CM have a mystery premium Shiraz offer but is it worth the punt?

Reckon there's a good chance they'll be Zonte's.

Tks for the tip - armed with 5% Gift I launched in this morn:

Victoire.JPG
First up it did allow me to add 2 x single botts to basket - I processed at $142.40 C & C - CAR tracked rebate of $20.73 - IMCAC that equates to $57.27/bott.

I had intended to repeat another 5 times but alas now will only allow max 1 bott into basket.

This is a much more than reasonable Champs and just a beautiful bottle - please feel free to try and if you do succeed it will be a spectacular bottle for you to open on XMAS day.
