Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

eBay has Woolies vouchers at about 15% off... usually these types of vouchers are interchangeable with Dan's and Cellarmasters. Has anyone bought these through eBay before? Woolworths | eBay

Cut from email received this morning from Wine Star:

The Legendary 98 Point Penfolds

I often wonder if wine scribes, wine makers - and wine retailers for that matter - read what they wrote about a release of a wine one year ago, let alone one of the previous few releases they proclaimed as the best ever. I mean seriously, how often do we come across the release of a legendary label, something like Wynns Black Label or Seppelt St peters - or in this instance, the famous 'Poor Man’s Grange', which has long gone past a poor man's wage, and we have all and sundry gushing over it in 'best ever' terms.

If you are averse to a bit of good ol' fashioned 'best ever' gushing, look away now because Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz 2015 is being spoken about in the most glowing terms imaginable, not least of which are articles in the major newspapers proclaiming this latest release has stolen the limelight from, yep you guessed it, the 'best ever' Grange.

Master of Wine Andrew Caillard leads the procession saying it is "pound for pound, probably the wine of the release" on his way to a massive 98 Points. James Halliday has a highest ever 97 Points & Special Value Star (at its new $95 retail price). Campbell Mattinson of The Wine Front, so often the miser publication, scores it 96 Points. "It’s a wine with a ‘wow’ introduction. It throws beautiful, beautiful aroma. It’s distinguished by it... from every angle this is a belter of a Bin 389." Tyson Stelzer, also 96 Points, says it is "another of the greats in the magnificent lineage of Bin 389".

The critic's angle may 389 is the star of the annual Penfolds release but it remains - perhaps more than ever - the must buy from Australia's most famous wine brand. At $79.99 it is still a bargain. Oh, nice new proprietary bottle too. We also offer the Penfolds Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, a stunning release of the iconic Penfolds St Henri 2014 and of course the Parker 100 Point, Halliday 99 Point Penfolds Grange Shiraz 2013.

@Snoopy113 because you can't access Conversations as you don't have enough posts yet. @Jay684 can send to any of the Mods (may as well be me) and I can pass on.

I'd happily do this but need the individuals email address to send an invite (via the CellarOne website)

Best get posting Snoopy113!

I think they had something similar earlier in the year. What would be the pick of the 6 "standard" wines?

I Can't decide if this is a good deal or not. If I were to go for it I would go with

2 x Black Label 09 Cabs
2 x 128 Penfolds 12
2 x WB grey label 2012 Cab/Shi

+ the St Henri

Seems I may have talked myself into it.
