Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

qaz - I assume you mean a place I happen to frequent in the street of Spring.

I received the same email.

(Edit - it also has tasting notes. Not sure why you want to keep it private? But I have sent Steady a PM with the public internet link).

myCellars currently has stock of the very limited (~100 dozen) Sons of Eden Cirrus Riesling 2016 ($41.95), rated 98pts by James Halliday, as well as a few bottles left of Bellevue Estate Shiraz 2015 ($19.95), a Philip White favourite - pm me for a free delivery code :)

Speaking of riesling, anyone buy Langton’s Ultimate Eden Valley Riesling Collection (1996-2016, 78 bottles, 26 producers) or know its price?

I knew about the City Wine Shop offer before the email was sent to subscribers and thought it only fair to them for me to delay posting publicly :)

Have you tried the pinot noir there yet?

AusCellardoor seems to have already sold out their allocation but it might be worth contacting them to confirm in case they haven’t.

Any reviews of this years Serrat offerings kicking about yet?

Halliday has scored the chardonnay 96pts

For fans of (Yarra Valley) cabernet sauvignon, such as the [post=1645419]2012 Oakridge Whitsend[/post], Woolworths/BWS currently have the 2015 Punt Road Cabernet Sauvignon for $22.50 - Cashrewards gives 5.6% cashback for BWS, $20 for new Woolworths customers (hopefully [post=1527770]more again soon[/post] :))

Forgot to mention that $180 Woolworths Online eVouchers are available for $150 on eBay, so eight bottles could cost $18.75 each :)

Hi qaz,

I'm too new to be able to send you a PM, but if you send ME a PM I could reply to you with my email address, because I would absolutely LOVE to take you up on the invite! Although I live in Adelaide unfortunately, so I wouldn't be able to share a case with you. But I LOVE Petaluma so much!! I'd just love to get a hold of some of those Rieslings so much!!

Thank you!!

Welcome to AFF :)

If you like riesling, then perhaps also consider Dan Murphy's $99 Aristocratic Riesling Mixed Six Pack ($16.50/bt)

Alternatively for cabernet, besides the Punt Road above and possible Petaluma Coonawarra 2013 [post=1662412]being discussed[/post], a dozen bottles of Mike Press Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 are available at United Cellars for $8.74 each (plus delivery) using 75UCSAVE

Hey does anyone have a Cracka Wines referral code they'd like to PM me perchance?

I've sent you something better :)

Also maybe check out [post=1657905]these[/post] [post=1646937]suggestions[/post] (note: links have changed and no longer work - visit here instead)

Ahh, so you're some kind of "insider". I do enjoy CWS, and their many other businesses.

The Serrat Pinot?
Yes - although embarrassingly I haven't tried last year's yet. I do have a few bottles in my cellar. I should probably open one before I go and buy even more (of the new vintage).

PN vary so much. I got one '15 Serrat PN initially, tried it and found it very funky/barnyard/earthy... and was in 2 minds - I was still thinking about it 2-3 weeks later, just couldn't get it out of my mind so grabbed some more.

I really enjoyed the Pinot (more than the SV) so will be getting some again this year.

Contrary to what it may seem, I'm not actually an insider - in this case, I just happened to visit their website whilst searching for something else yesterday and was lucky enough to come across the offer which had only been posted perhaps a few hours earlier :)

So you've already had a glass of the 2016 pinot there? How was it?

I haven't and like you, also not yet tried my 2015 pinot or shiraz viognier - this time I'm wanting the chardonnay and grenache noir, especially since somewhat regretting not buying the former last year given that I'm back into chardonnay after a long hiatus focussed on riesling white-wine-wise (also now wished that I had purchased some 2015 Holyman and 2013 Bicknell amongst others)

Only just recently opened a 2012 Bream Creek after thinking that I should start trying [post=1660585]all the Tassie pinots which I've been buying[/post] :)

haha - No, I was fortunate enough to try an older one and liked it... I am not that well connected to try unreleased wine.

I think I will buy some 2016 though based on past pedigree, although as always interested to hear any reviews.

You don't need to be well connected - anybody can go there to taste the 2016 pinot, as long as it's still available by the glass :)

Where are/were they selling the yet to be released 2016 Serrat PN by the glass?

[post=1662827]City Wine Shop[/post] - Melbourne :)

If someone has access to Wine Companion online, then perhaps check for any reviews besides the chardonnay?

edit: save the date - 2018 Halliday Wine Companion Awards: Wednesday 2nd August (anyone going?)

Also perhaps start checking or contacting Qantas epiQure for when they have them :)

For those that like the wines by Geoff Hardy (Pertaringa) Deals.com.au have a few lower/middle range at decent prices. (Undercover, Hand drafted Malbec, Scarecrow) Find the 'mystery' ones are the Pertaringa. Add the weekly 15% off code EMBRACE15 to make it more worth while.

(You can grab the GMH Family Blend for around $6.60 a bottle with a single bid on grays, so id leave the GMH for gryas, or the tractorshed/ozbargain sale)
