Really just wanted substantiated that they are a bona fide operation. They have 2010 Majella Malleea listed at $64.99 compared to Dan's at $80.75 in 6s - I might have a crack at Dan's 'Lowest Price Guarantee' which hopefully will get price back to ~$57.50/bott for 6 with a 10% GC..

I think there must be a fair bit of 2010 Majella Malleea floating around. I got a 6-pack @ $12/bot less than even that price.

Yes, very real business. I know the owner so they better be! Forget Dans and support the little guys Cruiser :)

For those of you not following Winefront (and perhaps Red Bigot's forum), a national scavenger hunt of sorts has been going on there for 2014 Mount Pleasant Philip Shiraz, rated 94pts by Gary Walsh.

Like all McWilliam's wines, its price has gone up significantly, from RRP $19.50 for 2013 to $27 for 2014, which is meant to be officially released next month.

However, in late July, it was found that some Dan Murphy's, Vintage Cellars, First Choice and BWS stores had the 2014 for $14 (same price as the 2013).

McWilliam's Cellar Door had it for $17.50 (via voucher), and Qantas epiQure sold out on the weekend at $14.

Why am I sharing this? Because hopefully [post=1508955]Dr Ralph[/post] and/or [post=1507800]AnonymousCoward[/post] can help :)

That's cheaper than when I was buying them last century :)

I didn't buy, but I know I've seen this for under $10 at the following BWS stores within the last week:

Mt Annan

Oran Park

UPDATE: Have checked 3 new BWS stores today and none of them carry this item.

I take it that this wine punches well above its weight?

Apparently so - seems to be the best bargain of the once-in-a-lifetime/century 2014 Hunter vintage - "This is the best Philip since the '91" - I've yet to try it myself

The 2014? Wow :)

Dan's have the 2013 Philip advertised for $13.30 as a 6. Could be worth cruising past just in case there are some 14's mixed in. Wouldn't be the first time I have seen mixed vintages together.

A rumour around that it is 1847 Stowaway - whatever that is. I think this one for the more clever AFFers here.

The Mount Pleasant Philip Shiraz is $16/$12 at my local BWS (only one of the three shops keep it), none in stock but the next shipment is due in 7 days.

They couldn't tell me if it was the '13 or '14 coming in or what they had last though.

Looks like Jacob's Creek 1847 The Solway, available only for Chinese market. Slightly below Hugo, $104 is ridiculous.

Ah The Solway was it - I was on a bad line when msg was passed on - no wonder Google could find nothing. jk link shows nothing for me but a 'Subscriber Only Article'.

I'm going to cruise past my local BWS on the way home. If the first hasn't got any I might ask them to ring the store a k up the road.

Stowaway on a boat, the Solway loaded with wines on a slow boat to China.
[Johann Gramp came to Australia on Solway that's why] ;)
