Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

After my call to DM CS yesterday, I was advised they have two main delivery companies (Allied Express and Nextday). Allied Express have a system that lets DM know that delivery is on its way and an email is sent - thus I knew that my St Henri's were being delivered on Friday (earlier than the expected 5 July date - bemused CS girl thought they must have had some in stock so they filled my order early). Nextday don't have a similar system, so had tried to deliver on Monday (but my office was closed) and the DM CS girl said they would hold for a day and they would try to re-deliver today. You can imagine my confusion when barely an hour later, CouriersPlease turn up with my order...go figure?

Nexday sometimes offload to other courier companies - you can usually see this on their website (says something like "diverted to local courier".
Also, Nexday do have a system for notifying the booker - Langtons, Vinomofo etc all seem able to tell you that goods have shipped. It must be that DM don't utilise this functionality.

Thought I would try another supplier, wineboxwarehouse. Good pricing, hopefully good product.

Cellarmasters has the code XMASJULY for 25% off (thanks to a tip on Facebook). With the Amex offer of $50 cashback there are some decent bargains to be had such as Lanson for $167 a case and Perrier Jouet for ~$220.

I've clicked on 6 pack of Riversdale Chardonnay from Cellarmasters. Tasted it recently at their cellar door and was impressed but couldn't justify the price ($57). Paying $20 after all the discounts is much better :)

I am looking halfheartedly at the Saltram Winemaker's Reserve Barossa Shiraz 2014 x12 ($283.88) $23.66/btl at CM.
With 25% and the usual & amex it should come in at around $132/case or $11/btl.
I say halfheartedly because it is not a single vineyard wine.
Anyone have an opinion on this one?
