Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

A great session in the Sydney Flounge.

Salt and pepper squid washed down by Lallier rose based on advice from this thread, followed by the trout crudo and Strelley Farm chardonnay (very good IMO), minute steak (and Neil’s leaves:rolleyes:) with the Smithbrook pinot noir (wine just okay), and Lilly Pilly noble blend with pav and brown sugar sponge (couldn’t decide, so ‘why not both?’).. Will round off proceedings with an espresso and a nip of Lark. Then roll onto EK417…
How did you get access to the F/CL/P1 menu if not flying on QF metal?

I have one datapoint of a family in the CL/P1 area (so presumably offered this special menu) while on MH metal

Your trout looks good, mine this afternoon was oil with a side of trout… still tasted great though!

It was hell of a busy evening in Sydney F lounge today.

Soup was delicious but the cauliflower (mains) seemed to have been overheated. The desserts were pretty good.

Cleaning staff weren’t anywhere near showers so had to get their attention at the front desk. Shower areas need maintenance.

There was an attendant directing me to the shower (which I badly needed after an earlier dip at Maroubra Beach) but I still found remnants of toothpaste in the basin

Lamb was also a winner. Super crunchy carrots by Neil.
I didn't like the flavour at all. I remembered the super crunchy carrots so I took bites out of it rather than try to cut it with my knife in case it's too loud...

The spring bovine offering of the slow cooked oyster blade was very good, very tender and flavoursome, would definitely pay for this in a restaurant.
I found the beef and rice too dry

The trout crudo and minute steak are the special items for people flying first.
Is there any precedent for pleb platinums accessing these items by asking nicely, in manner of getting the Piper Heidsieck in the BNE/ PER int lounges?
