Fark - Strauss is gone :(

@JohnK - see what I mean that's probably the problem ;)
What Strauss is gone because Fletcher can't spell? :confused:

3/266 at stumps!

A good day for England. Now to build a good first innings score tomorrow.

Sorry JohnK - I was responding to your comment re Panesar afetr I had commented on strauss.

I am not sure how good a day it was for england. They lost the first session, didnt seem to turn up for the second session and won the third. Its a darn sight better than the gabba though :)

Ah yes.... too distracted working to remember the cricket - time to log onto baggygreen.com.au

Good to see a closer contest

Very positive cricket from England and they look in total control. McGrath does not look fit, Lee is too expensive and Warne is bowling too negatively.

3/347 at lunch.

England in strong position!

Right time to declare or better to have had a few more runs on the board knowing how quickly the Australians can score runs? Draw looks likely result unless the unexpected happens.

Draw: 60% chance
England win: 30% chance
Australia win: 10% chance...OK I'm being optimistic here!:mrgreen:

I felt a little cheeky asking the cabin crew to see if the pilot could get the score for me on the flight last night - but they did and I was a very happy Pax :D I wonder if the same response would have been provided if I was in J or whY ;)

Shame that I am going to be travelling all day today and miss it all AGAIN :(

On a flight to MEL last Sunday, the captain gave us an update on the cricket (apparently for the benefit of those that couldn't find the ABC :) hehehe )

65/3 C'mon England!!!! DOnt want to get too excited but a ENgland win is not such a remote possiblity at the moment!

50% Chance of Draw
40% chance of england win
10% chance of rain ;)

3/183 and the match heads closer to a draw.

Ponting reaches a century after surviving a few close calls and a Giles dropped catch!

Update:oops::(
Draw:50% chance
England win: 49%
Australia win: <1%:!:

A 49% chance of England winning? That's a bold prediction!

With Australia at 5/312 there are still a lot of runs to be scored. If Australia passes the follow-on mark I do not think England can win. It would have been a different ball game had Giles caught Ponting on 35.

I agree - draw is easily the most probable result. Likely to avoid the follow on, and thus 15 wickets in under 2 days is a tall ask for England.
