We are looking forward to the PERTH Airport Costco opening. Our first one....
Don’t get too excited bucko has it might be a bit of a letdown compared to the US Costco you visit when there.

Their fuel is cheap so if PER has fuel facility attached that will be a big + for you - I don’t remember ever buying wine from Costco as usually considerable cheaper elsewhere.

Their meat extremely high quality and prices reflect that - huge packs make it a no goer first is in 2 pax cabin

Last week I did buy 2 x boxes 64 pc Anthony Berg liqueur chocolates for about $28 I think which we used as decos on Chrissy tree

Yes they regularly have one off bargains but if you don’t attend regularly you will miss them. I live only 5 mins from Moorabbin outlet so I can readily visit anytime but I do not buy much there

I already do my fuel at about 20 cents a litre off the 98 best price in PERTH.
We still do the chocolate macadamias both Kirkland and the Hawaiian ones and the 20% off gift cards in California.
Don’t panic lover boy you got rid of that water bed......

Yes - I went past their new building at the domestic airport last week, massive building as well as the servo. Should be finished shortly. But it's a 25k round trip for us to get there so doubt it will be beneficial as there are only two of us to shop for.

Beware buying Costco fuel, as they water it down with detergents - I filled my M3 ONCE with costco 98, and it coughed and spattered for the entire tank. Never again.

Seriously? I find that impossible to believe! I have used Costco fuel both Petrol and Diesel since it's opening in Moorabbin - I know many others who regularly buy fuel there - NEVER a problem

Never had a problem either.

Petrol at Moorabbin is 133c today; petrol local to me is either 175c or 131c depending on the chain.

Highly strung engines need high quality fuel. If you’re filling a “normal” car with Costco fuels I would suggest they are More forgiving of poor fuel quality.

Ditto to no probs with the 98 Fuel from Costco at Moorabbin. My VW which needs min 95 has been reg filled there since opening with no issues at all.

Can you please define a 'normal' car?

A car with with an engine that is not designed for racing or high performance. Pretty much anything under $60k new is generally a normal car. I'm referring to cars such as the Nissan GT-R, Porsche 911, BMW M cars, Audi RS cars, Audi R8. Subaru STi and Holden HSV are border-line, but realistically they are not designed to rev as high or produce as much power as other engines.

The real issue is that highly strung engines require a high RON value and better quality fuel. Costco even has a warning telling buyers that fuels have additives to clean the fuel system.

if your car doesn’t need 98 then any issues with 98 fuel Probably won’t affect you. Just saying.

Hmm, I use their fuel a lot in my Focus RS without any issues and a friend with a Jaguar F type Coupe says costco 98 is the only fuel he uses, unless for some reason he can't get it.
He drives his cars hard, up and down Clyde Mountain, Canberra to Batemans Bay quite often, except when it's closed by bushfires! :)

I guess a car getting 309kW out of a 4.0 litre normally aspirated V8 is somewhat more sensitive to fuel quality than the cars you mentioned.

Doesn't every fuel retailer claim their fuel contains additives that make things work cleaner/better/more efficient? It's a bit of spin to call this a warning.

So 250 kw from a 2.3 litre engine isn't "highly strung"?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are saying, but anyway life goes on and this probably isn't the place for this.
