re: [closed for registration] 6 Points/$1 at Ðick Smith (over $50)

I have thought of a "wrinkle" to try...will see if it works over the weekend and if so I would expect to be able to up my point earn substantially.;)

Your PM box is full... I am thinking that any thoughts you have should be kept private and PMed to regular members. :D

One angle I've looked at gives a 10% "cost" for 6.5 points / $, (or rather a cost of 10c per 6.5 points), this isn't too bad.

So yeah, it's all interesting, and there are ways. As always, there are some creative minds churning the options!

re: [closed for registration] 6 Points/$1 at Ðick Smith (over $50)

I'm intrigued. I think I need to put my thinking cap on :shock:

re: [closed for registration] 6 Points/$1 at Ðick Smith (over $50)

I will give this a try tomorrow as I need to buy a large(-ish) amount of alcohol at the last minute for social golf on Sunday.

Purchase Wish cards from D!ck Smith and then use at Woolworths and Woolworths Liquor.

I am not going to rack my brain thinking of ways to "trick" the system. I am quite happy to receive 1 point for Amex Gold purchase, 5x D!ck Smith bonus points and then use at Woolworths for EveryDay Rewards points.

I know people who go shopping and pay with cash. I wonder if any friends would be interested in helping me out until June 2011?

Oh well, that particular wrinkle did not work.

Still with this promo running for so long it will generate a nice earn anyway..

A one way J to Europe here I come.

I am already on that one....

What also frustrates me in the check-out line is people paying with cash and then no everyday rewards card.

Person in front of me a week or so ago... Checkout said $375...... and I was on triple points....

Checkout girl asked the person, "do you have an everyday rewards card?" customer in front said no, and I politely asked if I could swipe/scan mine :D

I was declined by the customer, and even the checkout girl tried to encourage the scanning of my card, but was still declined

:evil:

I kind of ignored this promo as I'd maxed my allowable technology spend for the year. Might have to change my mind.

BTW my PM bos isn't full. ;) Just to so people know.

Not sure how you get 970?

100 = MR Points
50 = Plat bonus
500 = 5x bonus
250= ??hopscostch bonus

Total = 900

0 = Everyday Points as Giftcards do not earn any points.

I think the 70 extra points come from the using of the gift cards at Woolworths/Big W.

re: [closed for registration] 6 Points/$1 at Ðick Smith (over $50)

Very strange....there are 2 D ick Smith stores at my local shopping centre in Sydney. I have been making purchases;) at one and receiving the above 5x pts bonus, but on the w/e, I was nearer the other store, so I made a similar purchase there....just looked at my account tonight and noticed there was no 5x bonus:shock:. What gives? Looks like I can only make my purchases from one particular D ick Smith store to get the 5x bonus:?:

Amex coding/merchant issue. Does one come up as Tandy or Powerhouse on your CC statement? Give them a call and report the issue and see if they'll fix it.

re: [closed for registration] 6 Points/$1 at Ðick Smith (over $50)

Yes, it does say 8-10 weeks, but still strange that most people reporting immediately posting.....

re: [closed for registration] 6 Points/$1 at Ðick Smith (over $50)

I can neither confirm or deny that the bonus points are posting immediately....

I've been suffering from this - the **** Smith store in George Street, Sydney shows up as "Powerhouse" and doesn't attract the points. I've been following up via phone and now the secure email system and they keep on referring to the 8-10 week delay thing, and won't give an explanation of why some stores credit immediately and others won't.

re: [closed for registration] 6 Points/$1 at Ðick Smith (over $50)

ISTR some T&C's indicate this promotion is not valid at Dick Smith Franchises, so be careful.

Maybe do a test purchase at a store? (@$51 or so)

There are very few of these. I believe all are in small country towns.

The best way to check: Dick Smith - Store Finder

Franchises should be marked similar to Bundaberg (Franchise)
