Hi, this piece was in the latest e-newsletter from QF.

Classic Award Change Fee From 27 August 2008 the current Classic Award Revalidation Fee (2,500 points per passenger) and Award Ticket Reissue Fee (5,000 points per passenger) will each be replaced with a single Change Fee (2,500 points per passenger).

Am I just lucky but my last two award bookings (both classic) I have had to either change or cancel my booking and never have they taken points off my account. Is the the norm for WP members from others experience?

Yep, certainly the revalidation 'fee' has generally been waived for WP & SG. (Date/Time changes)

The 5000 point reissue/cancellation fee has been applied however for route/carrier changes and cancellation.

you are right there serfty. i checked my account and yes, no points deduction for changes but indeed did lose 5000 for cancelling my MEL-ASP flight for october. teach me to post without doing proper research, sorry.

Apparently ALL frequent flyers will now be subject to the fee.

bugger.. i know that as a PS you get the points waived... I did it once when i booked tix for my partner and had to change them, because i had booked them, I was waived the fee!

How do you know that? The waiver was never documented before, so how can you tell from this change whether it applies to all or not?
