CitiBusiness Gold 'no longer available'

I've read the other changes regarding the point transfers for various cards - is it safe to assume the 1:1 Citi to QFF is still valid on the Citibusiness Gold cards?

It was the main selling point of the Citibusiness Gold.

I transferred a heap of points 1:1 to QFF late last month without issue. It's only Krisyflyer and the other programs which are affected.

Yes, QF is still 1:1,

KF And Velocity changed for a week, and have been changed back now, probably pissed off too many loyal customers.

So All is business as usual :)

Oh I didn't realise that Citibank had reversed their decision, I haven't been following that thread good to hear it's back to normal.

Yes just checked:

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program
Citibank Rewards cardholders can manually transfer their points to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program.

Citibank Rewards Credit Card - Select Signature and Citibusiness cardholders:
1.5 Citibank reward points = 1 KrisFlyer mile, redemptions must be in multiples of 15,000 Citibank reward points

Citibank Rewards Credit Card - Platinum, Classic, Citibank Gold Credit cardholders:
2 Citibank reward points = 1 KrisFlyer mile, redemptions must be in multiples of 20,000 Citibank reward points

So Citibusness is ok. But Plat stays reduced.

Not sure it's the number of customers, plenty of Plat customers pissed off I'd suggest too. Personally I think one of the complaints to the various regulators struck a nerve, and/or they got very nervous that something about that complaint might be successful. Maybe the reference to the NAB case but who knows, I don't think they will ever admit it to us.

I'd been thinking to let this card go and move to something else for free for a year, but after reading this thread I think I'll try to keep my CBG as long as possible. Still the best earning card for a lowish spender like me, and one of the few cards that will provide the travel insurance if you use points for miles.

Received a new card in the mail this week due to current one approaching its expiry date. New card has an expiry date of mid 2016, so still no sign of CB "retiring" this card for existing cardholders :)

Any evidence of Citibusiness Gold cardholders retiring this card themselves? With my anniversary coming up next month have just told Citibank I'm very tempted to close this card down unless they can offer something, not an idle threat though, I really am starting to think this card is marginal in terms of attractiveness.

Perhaps I've missed something but I'm unsure why this card has suddenly become marginal in terms of attractiveness.

At the time of sign-up it was a very strong non-AMEX QFF earner and the only change is the inability to earn on ATO Tax Bills?

Only reason I could see this card becoming marginal in attractiveness is if you are aiming for non-QFF points.. in which case I'm not sure this card was ever optimal?

I'll be switching from my Macquarie back to this next month.

I cannot think of any other card, where $1 = 1.25 QF point, plus travel insurance, at around the $150 mark.

This card is still in the main section of my wallet. Having the annual fee waived this year makes it a must-to-have for me - if it wasn't, I may have seeked an alternative with a less point per $ earn.

It gets me .83 pts per dollar SQ points. Given I have a SQ Amex as my main card would rather have all points going to the same program and frankly availability on SQ much better. As for the only change, well thats a big change if you run your own company, ATO is well over 50% of my ongoing CC bills.

However the weird thing is
a) Citibank denied my email request for a fee waiver (though I know actually saying you want to leave frequently gives a different result than just threatening it)
b) ironically, arrived home today to a mail saying they are closing CitiBusiness down and will be getting a Signature at same annual fee ($149). Need to consider but may accept that offer.

I'm guessing the Select annual fee was not justified? Would get 1.33 KF per $1 :)

Sadly, I do run my own company but it's only a midget company. I'm (un?)fortunate that the ATO change didn't affect too much.. However, I am able to put through a large amount of freight/warehousing bills on the card :D

Its always been the annual fee that has killed this calculation, yes 1.33 KF is better than .83 but to get that extra .5KF you pay $551 ($700- $149) which means you need to be putting through a fair bit a year on that card, i.e. ~ 110K if you value KF points at 1c, 55K if you value at 2c. With ATO ruled out I'm certainly not going close to that 110K.

Aye. Guessed this was the situation. I'm much the same where annual fees are concerned.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the closure of the card though. I'll need to keep an eye out for a new credit card.

I too got a letter advising me of this enhancement.

Would be a reasonable deal if QFF was included; as it is CB options were Kris, QFF & Velocity, Signature is Kris & Velocity only. This may suit some but not all.
