CitiBusiness Gold 'no longer available'

I have had this card for over 5 years.
Last year spent less than $5k on it.
Had the Annual Fee waived after requesting cancelation last month.

Just for those holding ye old Citibusiness Gold I did an online transfer to QF (at 1:1) and their system seems to have transferred the points twice.

Unsure whether it'll correct itself but there's two lines:
CITIBANK PLATINUM REWARDS
CITIBANK QANTAS DIRECT

And both are crediting the full amount of the point transfer. It sounds like it's a potential bug that if I had to guess affects Citibusiness Gold members (as it's not been mentioned in other forums) but might be worth a crack to see if it holds? especially if you would normally transfer anyway.

CitiBank appear to have suspended transfers at the moment as I get a message that the "website has encountered an unexpected problem" when attempting the points transfer.

However, you are right, when I choose to transfer 169,000 points, the total points remaining in my account is shown as "-169,000" indicating that Citi was going to transfer twice as many points as expected.

How many points did you transfer?

Only transferred about 35,000 pts but my Citibank balance is still above 0 despite the double transfer.

In that case, Citibank may be able to recover some points if they "discover" the mistake.

Also I think the new transfer page doesn't require increments of 10,000s or even 1,000s you can transfer weird numbers to your liking :)

Since the upgrade to their Rewards website a little while ago now, you can transfer in increments of 500, with a minimum of 10,000 per transfer.

Hmm. Strange, it seemed to allow me to complete a transfer finishing in 5 so unless they allow increments of 5 I'd say something went wrong.

Did you get double the number of points expected (as discussed above) into your QFF account?

Yeah. It came through twice and only got deducted once. Unsure if they'll fix it up but it hasn't been fixed yet.

Wonder if I'll get double the transfer bonus from Qantas. Or is that hoping for too much? :p

Citibank will be unable to recover the extra points transferred across to Qantas. It will depend on whether Citibank can recover them from your existing balance (if any).

Looks like someone (Citi or Qantas) managed to reverse the double transaction on my QFF account today. Back down to where I should have been - I guess it just wasn't to be :p

Aww, they got me too :(

Weird, they reversed the 20,000 points on my account too, which put me in -14,000 on QFF.

Today they minus another 6000, but then re-added 20,000.

So now my account is back to 0 QFF points. :)

Well the writing is on the wall. Citibank to reduce the Qantas Frequent Flyer earn rate on their CitiBusiness Credit Card from 1.25 per $1 spent to just 0.625 per $1 spent.

To take effect from 18th March 2016.

https://citibank.com.au/global_docs/pdf/Citibusiness.pdf

I'm now on the hunt for a better earn rate on a Visa or Mastercard.

Any suggestions are appreciated.
