An update on this one.

Have had the card about a week and just logged in to check my points balance. 60,054 ! Yes I have only spent $54 on the card and already have the points!

Now thats the good news.. the bad news! I had a balance transfer go through off my Westpac Amex and it has appeared in Citi but not been taken off Westpac!

High 5! is that 60k points in QFF or Citirewards?

Looking at applying for this card as above members have done, just not sure whether to put the points into Kris or QF.

Did anyone else see this line on the main advertisement: Citi Platinum Credit Card - Credit Cards | Citibank Australia

International flight destinations include, but are not limited to: Melbourne to Launceston; Sydney to Christchurch; and Brisbane to Nadi (Fiji)8.

Haha, Melbourne to Launceston an International flight now!

Points (including the 60k bonus points) have posted to my FF account. No hassles whatsoever.

Was that using the half yearly fee for the first year special too?

Applied last night, application approved this morning with a call to my payroll, department.

Put in a transfer to KF two days ago. Let's hope it doesnt take 6-8 weeks like Citibank says :p

My only hesitation in applying for this card is the 120k cap. I wanted to use it for a small business, including paying GST to the ATO for property transactions - so it won't go far. And does the 60k of bonus points form part of the cap for the first year (assume not)?
I also have an Amex Ultimate which has unlimited points, but I have read here that Amex doesn't allow you to add cash to put the card into credit (won't be able to do ATO transactions)- thus my idea to get a Visa/MC as well.
As far as turnover on the new card, I'd be looking at around $200k for the first year & then increasing. Should I look at an unlimited points card instead? Or take this one for 6 mths to get the points? Hmmm.... Just thought of that last one & think I may have answered my own question but any help greatly appreciated.

It depends on just how much you want/need to put thru credit cards.Include creditors, all taxes both business and personal, and other cardable expenses.
If that adds up to hundreds of thousands you could read Frequent Flyer Fiend and the Game in the Blogs as you will see that it consumes at least an hour a week and you may get to avoid some of the trials and tribulations.

Thats a $120K cap, not a 120K points cap so no the 60K is not inclusive.

You seem to have half answered the question yourself, you can only put $120K through this card but why not use your other card for the other $80K.

For $200K a year I'd be looking at an AMEX plus a Visa, at your level the 60K bonus would suggest to me the Citi Plat is probably the best. Cove would appear to me to be putting through many times that volume so other Visa's are better but my personal opinion would be that this is a very good card at your transaction level if combined with an AMEX.

Yes our famîly is running with 2 Amex Ultimate cards,2 different CitiSelect cards, a Woolworths EDR card and a Westpac Kris Flyer Platinum Amex.
Citi is the most difficult to get running smoothly as their call centre can give you incorrect answers and often the processing centre can bugger up your account set up. They have done that twice and I have paid $749 and $700 to achieve that.
I did put one Citi card into credit and they did pay the QF points when I paid a large
Bill to the Tax Office so I am working on getting the Kris card version running properly.
If you don't exceed the $120k spending cap stick with the platinum card or get your partner one as well to make it a $240k combined spending cap and pick up 120k of bonus points.

Point 3.4 in the Citi Rewards T&Cs states that the maximum number of points that may be awarded to you Account in any 12 month period ... is 120,000 for Platinum.

Can someone confirm where it states that the 60,000 bonus points are not included in this 120,000 points cap?

Also, is it possible to switch frequent flyer accounts as you see fit (also is it easy?) - like AMEX MR?

I am starting to think that I made a mistake getting this card and linking to my QFF, especially after realising that getting flight redemptions on Citi Travel using Citi Rewards points is cheaper than directly from QFF...

60k points are separate from the 120k cap!
Switching would be a call centre call......good luck with that!

Thanks burmans & thanks to cove also for your reply. It seems so obvious now I've read it (der!) but I never considered that DH & I both getting separate cards would be the easy way to double the points cap. Makes sense to have 2 cards with $20k limit each rather than 1 with $40k.
I'll be keeping a close eye on the spend over the next 12 mths but may well end up needing to employ more advanced tactics of the blog in future.

We actually have two Westpac Amex Platinum Kris Flyer credit cards as they can be loaded on the day to pay a bill that exceeds the card credit limit.
If you cash a cheque at Westpac into the card the money arrives instantly so you can continue your bill paying to earn points at 1.5 per dollar.
The Westpac Visa is dustbin material for Australian expenditure so it is "Hello Citi" for the replacement card.
