Citi Rewards offer - 100,000 Velocity points, $99 fee in first year

Did Citibank remove the points/bonus points on government spend wernt all Citibank cards like that before?

Because t&c says
“ Eligible purchases exclude Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, interest, fees, refunds, Chargebacks and spend on a Linked Diners Club Card.”

Was wondering the same. Have some govt bills I'd like to run through it.

How did your govt bill running go? I would like to pay my council rates to help meet my minimum spend.

Didn't end up going with it.

As far as I could tell by the fine print it wasn't going to happen. I didn't have a lot of other expenses at the time so I opted for a lower threshold card I could meet without needing to use govt bills.

I just noticed that this card is now offered (confirmed by clicking on the OP's link) at 60,000 VFF points for 3k spend in 3 months with zero fee for the first year.

Despite trepidation with Citi (and also knowing I have a Citi card already - Virgin Flyer) I gave it a go. I was shocked to see that after a minute of the application it was approved and congratulating me with a pack and card forthcoming. Clearly automated (or very quick), but that's a first for me. Anybody else have a similar experience?

I applied and got the card very easily despite holding a Qantas Money card at the same time.
Currently in the US and have been using a lot the Diners Club - the card is accepted pretty much everywhere and I had little to no problems paying.

On the rare occasion where the Diners Club card is not accepted with the POS - I can see the transaction on my Citi App and the preauthorization drops.
What is interesting is that on the same exact transaction between the Diners Club and the Mastercard, the total price charged pending between the two cards is always different due to the network foreign fee/convert fee but Diners Club is always ahead.

I read many horrors stories on Citi but so far not a single issue - actually very pleased with the experience.
