CBR stoush with QF

Airports don't run around with credit card payment machines expecting payment-before-departure for flights.
This reportedly happened at CBR recently.

And it happens across the globe at various airports when the situation warrants it.

I’ve only ever heard of it happening with refuellers, never an airport.

QF normally get their way in these sort of disputes by bribing the head of the other company/Government official etc with a CL membership...

Not applicable in this case. The airline paid the charge and entered a new diversion agreement with the airport.

One suspects CBR got their way with few, if any, concessions to QF. (Though that could have subsequently influenced the number of cancellations ...)

Well, it was reported recently. And it is a mystery to me why Qantas needed to start talking about an event that had taken part a year earlier....

As stated previously, the incident came to light as a result of the matter of cancellations and subsequent CBR/QF interactions.
