BYO Lunch

You can write your name on the bottom of the tupperware
But doesnt it rub off?

Any suggestion regarding mitigating against the lunch thief? (apart from writing name on tupperware)

But neither does the thought of a hot soup at lunch. :p

I'd fancy hot soup at lunch. Is there such a thing as cold soup?

Lots of soups in the freezer in single portion size
What container do you do for soup portion size?

When I fired up the smoker in the holidays I did an extra couple of kilos of pulled pork which are now smothered in sauce and portioned into ziplock bags in the freezer.

Microwaved and added to a fresh bread roll makes for the best lunches I have had in a while.

A small good quality thermos will keep soup hot until lunchtime. Fill thermos with boiling water. After a few minutes empty water from thermos and then add hot soup.

Do you have a label maker. Most label tape will stick on to plastic containers and won't rub off when wahsed. You could also try bright circle or star stickers from a newsagency so you can recognise your containers from a distance.

Woolworths used to offer free name labels at this time of the year but I don't think they are doing it this year.

Containers & Lids – Genfac Plastics

I just use the round containers with lids - I reuse them several times - sometimes you can barely read the lid and then you have to decipher what made sense a couple of weeks ago.

If someone really wanted to get texta off your containers they probably could but they'd have to be serious. I would just use the reusable containers above.

.. .. ’m really bad a making sure the Tupperware comes home. Eventually stopped cos I could not remember which Tupperware belonged to me...
You would be dead to me

You too. ;)

My husband use to work in a secure 24/7 locked down facility and would phone every time he had an evac. I always asked 2 things; 1, I can't tell and 2, did he have the Tupperware.

If there's lunch thieves then wow, just wow! I've never had that problem. I've never had to write my name on my container, either. Odd.

Gazpacho is made to be cold, give it a whirl.

I use something like this to take soup to work - works a charm: https://amzn.to/2QQbc0q

It’s getting difficult. I thought BYO lunch is easy:eek:

Per my last post ... it is, I'm not sure why everyone is over complicating it :p

I put my container in the fridge and then remember where it is, grab it ... use it ... give it a quick rinse and back in my bag to take it home. It's not difficult!

Tomorrow and Thursday lunch is catered so I’ll start on Friday.

Ok I’ll do thermos thing and fruit salad and see how that goes
Then I’ll get microwaveable mugs as @Flashback suggests and freeze portions in it and take to work and compare that with thermos

I tend to buy my lunch as I have to feel like what I’m eating, or I don’t eat (goes back to school days too!). And I don’t do leftovers either.

My current default option is a snack pack Woolies sell - rice thins, cheese, salami and chutney.

Whats a crispy vietnamese roll?
Here is one I prepared earlier :p

This is actually Banh mi, but the roll is called Vietnamese Roll. It’s crispy and good ones are somewhat reminiscent of French baking. It is nothing like a hot dog roll although it kind of looks like it here.

That almost looks like a Subway
Ive always thought vietnamese rolls are like this:

Hate subway. I can’t even stand the smell of the shop.

Your picture has summer rolls or cold rolls or sometimes called rice pancake rolls.

This is a better picture. A good one is very crisp on the outside and the inside actually have texture and flavour.
