I got the email, max bonus for me is 35%.

Annoyingly, the email says I can purchase anywhere from 10,000 to 250,000 points to get a special bonus, but when I log in, the minimum is 20k points before the bonus kicks in.

I called the member service centre and they said reds and silvers get the bonus from 10k, golds and above it only starts at 20k.

The email - which is addressed to me by name with my gold status - is wrong.

I gave the offer in August a miss but I am surprised they are running this promo so soon afterwards. I might partake this time and book flights for late next year now. I vaguely remeber Krisflyer uppping the points cost for a lot of routes later this year.

Amex cards don't cop this fee fortunately, as long as the currency is AUD they don't care where the charge is physically/electronically processed.
Given that the currency is all in AUD, I've bought using these sales plenty of times in the past and have always avoided extra/international transaction fees.

Amex cards don't cop this fee fortunately, as long as the currency is AUD they don't care where the charge is physically/electronically processed.
Given that the currency is all in AUD, I've bought using these sales plenty of times in the past and have always avoided extra/international transaction fees.

My ANZ Platinum Travel Rewards or whatever it's called has commission- and fee-free international currency transactions.

I realise there are numerous variants.

I have a standard Amex card, so not sure I dodge these fees.

Like Visa some cards exclude foreign fee and most do not.

I see this recent one and no line amount for any conversion but on a small sum hard to tell.
