Fingers crossed on that prediction. Also flying F in second week of June on my way to urop - really want to road test the new private room.....also alas 13hr layover......dont want to stay in a hotel, but more than happy to spend 13hrs wining, dining and snoozing in the F lounge.
I doubt you would want to do that with the present small F area. I hope for your sake the new lounges open by June.

Although you say you don't want to stay in a hotel, we had a 16 hr layover a couple of yrs ago, so booked a room at the Village Hotel Changi. Short taxi ride [or free hotel shuttle if you time it right] around to there. Lots of great eating options at the hawker centre and across the road, also some nice walks along the seashore. Time for a decent afternoon sleep before heading back to the airport at 10pm via hotel shuttle bus. We had a lovely time.

Good option for a long layover in Sin :)

We have also stayed there. Perfect for a quick break and at the right time the shuttle bus is good. And as stm1sydney said excellent food a short walk away. Plus for the aircraft enthusiast excellent views of take-off/landings at Changi Airport from the top deck swimming pool area..

I know, I kind of hope my waitlisted saver J flights clear I did ages ago... but unfortunately Qantas the dogs cancelled my J flight sydney to haneda and subsequently my F flight on JAL from haneda to heathrow yesterday to which they were less than helpful accommodating me onto a different flight.

The only thing I found available on the date or close to the date I have to travel to london is the F one.

Oh well, that's definitely a first world issue!

So I just looked at the Village hotel as in August the CP Changi is not taking bookings. unfortunately neither is the village Hotel Changi.

One would hope that by August, things would have improved.

It has improved by August. I went to Trip Advisor to look up reviews for the village hotel.only 2 and they mention Quarantine. So I looked at my early August dates and i could book. So I went to IHG and I can book the CP now for August. Mrsdrron is happy.

Hotel bed/TV much preferred over 13 hours in ANY lounge

5 hours in any lounge is more than enough

Which is why we always try for a daylight flight to Asia. Overnight in a hotel then another daylight flight to Europe or in past years to the USA

In F even better! We did three days in a row in F without “stopovers” (as defined by ticket rules), but did overnight in both transit points, MEL-SIN/-FRA/-JFK. Although in SIN, just went home for the night, not hotel (and given it was November picked up some warmer clothes).

Was in the lounge at T3 for 4 hours or so between 6:00 am to 11:00 am on 27th- absolute chaos and not an inch of space to spare for the early morning flights. The lounge staff were waking people up from slumber and the food stations were clearly unable to cope with long lines.

Yes as the forum's Singapore "Rep" do you have any idea of when the Trace Together App requirement for travellers entering through SIN will be dropped?

While one evidently no longer needs to scan it at most locations, I think you still need to have it on your phone (or get the token) to enter Singapore.

To get to Europe I normally book day flights with an overnight transit. I prefer to get a hotel landside, rather than airside. So I might only be landside in Singapore for 8 to 20 hours, and typically only go to the hotel. Though sometimes I will pop into the city for a meal etc.

The testing requirements have now gone for vaccinated travellers (at least for countries that I will fly to), and so the Trace Together App now seems to be the one remaining inconvenience to go through if one goes through customs and immigration. Though one also needs to lodge the electronic arrival card: https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard/

CP at Changi very handy but those freakin beds are like morgue slabs - as for the EL F & B was absolute joke - gave up on CP long ago - downtown really ain’t that far - but as always YMMV
