Anyone else doing QF8/QF55 (other than those I know of already)?

We won't have long in the F lounge, but I have a spare guest spot for anyone on those flights ... Going to have to scoff my eggs benedict and Tattinger very quickly!

edit: I'd love to do the winery tour, but unfortunately I'm on a 12:30 midday flight on the Sunday, really bad timing :(

that 114 on teh way home ?
hopefully my shadow is in 4b!

Down to the final 5.

The final five spots have probably been filled, which is just as well since the cost is probably going to be out of reach after the very enjoyable experience the previous day.

My liver shall rejoice:!: :p

I have booked Euro for the entire afternoon/evening.

I was thinking of hosting a small group for a light dinner and drinks on Saturday evening.

Let me know if you are interested.

Have been without Internet since Friday night, so sorry for the late reply BR.
This soirée sounds lovely. Just the thing to round out the day. Please count me in.

I have just finished speaking with the company which is handling the winery tours.

In order to make this a great day, I have decided to steer away from the "Toyota Coasters" and "Kia Carnivals". I have arranged 2 Mercedes-Benz Vianos, so I am having to cap the numbers at 12.

The cost will be $100 each and includes pick-up and return to your hotel.

This means that we have the vehicles to ourselves exclusively and are able to stay and go at our leisure.

I am suggesting a 10:30 am pick-up with a return around 3:00 - 3:30

Wine tastings will be available and we will be looked after very well by a professional team.

If there are 6 people with flights in the 5:00PM or so time frame in the afternoon, One of the Vianos can take you directly to the airport rather than having to come back to the city. This would be at no further cost.

So, If you were thinking of a transfer in the evening, you would pretty much get the winery tour for free!! WIN!!

I will need definite numbers and payment ASAP and it will be on a first in basis.

Most of you have my details, so please let me know.

Boss

Oooh! Wretched internet problems!! Please count me in, if I'm not too late.
let me know so I know whether to go ahead with EFT to you. I think I still have the BSB details. Were they posted here earlier on?

Edit Friday : found the banking details thanks. Payment sent.

This probably needs a new thread.
Here goes anyway.
Some of the contributors to this site have a serious handle on how awards and ASA , SC's runs etc work, and have knowledge beyond some of us mere mortals
I was thinking that a nice social meeting could include a Guru of the dark arts to enlighten those less knowledgeable.
This can be as formal or informal as you like.
Maybe combined with a social dinner evening etc
As a fairly new member I may actually be going over old ground here but I thought I would ask anyway.

I think I have seen something before but not sure it got off the ground. Pretty sure Cove was the thread starter.. maybe? I could be completely wrong... it wouldn't be the first time... :D

On the weekend I sure you will get some helpful tips. Generally the monthly (main cities) get togethers would included answering any questions new members have. :)

And I'm planning to get to the Flounge at around 8.30.
I wonder who the random is in Row 4?
Has anyone checked to see if we have shadows?

You and I are still showing a spare seat between us :)

I am in 4F but I notice 4B was available on QF043.

The Qantas website won't let me select a seat on QF008, maybe they will allocate me a premium economy seat on the flight to Sydney.

I am flying back on Sunday on EK0435(Emirates)

No wine tour for me; catching up with some New Zealand relatives on Sunday.

My iPad will be occupying 4B ;)

So no PowerPoint presentation then. ?

Hi Boss Reggie,

As this is your function, can you please indicate what the dress code is for both the Lunch and the Steak Dinner?

Mrs Reggie (my +1) is starting to pack, and I am attempting (unsuccsessfully at this stage) to sell her on the merits of carryon only.

I believe the dress code has been covered before for saturday, but not friday. I can;t remember what it was, but I remember something along the lines of needing a collar... but don;t quote me on that.

I've packed as we fly up to Sydney first thing Wednesday morning for a couple of days.
Post 537:
Dress code for the dinner and lunch would be "smart casual" with collar.

It is not going to be too formal, as I believe we are all there to have a great lunch with some wine, and some good conversation and laughs.

Use your common sense, but make sure you pack your sense of humour and Beroccas!!

Boss

Smart casual. No T shirts or thongs (jandels ) so far as I can tell
Im going with a shirt ( no tie) and a jacket , it's Auckland so will be a wee bit chilly I imagine.

When I landed at AKL today it was about 16 degrees. There are locals still about in T Shirt and shorts
