But Lindsay, the flybuy card costs nothing, if you are going to Coles or any of the other partners why not use it in tandem with your credit card? You are only cutting off your points to spite your wallet.
Spot-on, it costs you absolutely nothing. Even the weakest spenders should be able to rack up enough points for some movie tickets, etc on an annual basis.
To the detractor. (not you Lindsay).
Mr Fells has cautioned the CBA for not making their fees obvious and he has put a bomb under the credit card mafia in Australia.
"Mr" (not professor, as he likes to be called, that salutation should only be used on the campus that granted it to him, in an honorary capacity) Fells has done sod-all for anyone but his own press.
Raids on the oil companies after all the press releases/ conferences/ TV & radio spots about collusion, cartels, etc?
NOTHING.
Not a thing. Just a lot of hard-working Australians tarred with the brush of dishonesty, and not a SHRED of evidence to support the case against them. Fells and his publicity machine have gone awfully quiet about petrol prices - funny that.
Credit cards? Far more credit should go to the reserve bank than Fells for the coming changes, and those of you using credit (rather than charge) cards to acquire points might not welcome the proposed alterations - particularly at retail level.
Fells sticking it to QF for "predatory pricing" on the SYD-ADL route? Bottom line is Fells wants travellers to pay MORE.
He is a useless waste of taxpayer's money. Who does more for Australia - the likes of Gerry Harvey, or Alan Fells?
Your economic bible might well be "Das Kapital", mine is "Atlas Shrugged".
My bet is Fells has never read it.
