For everyone else... I didn't previously notice but there's also a version of this fare allowing you to route via Japan. It's higher priced (about $500 on average) than the North America or Asia versions but still not bad.

So you could do...

Australia -> Japan -> Europe -> North America -> Australia or vice versa
Australia -> Japan -> Europe -> SE Asia -> Australia or vice versa
Australia -> SE Asia -> Europe -> SE Asia -> Australia
Australia -> SE Asia -> Europe -> North America -> Australia or vice versa
Australia -> North America -> Europe -> North America -> Australia
Australia -> Japan -> Europe -> Japan -> Australia

This fare has been extended yet again... but is now ~$200-300 more.

Last ticketing date is now 19/04.

BKK, ICN, NGO, KIX and NRT are no longer allowed on the sale version of the fare, however SIN and HKG are still allowed.

Some additional routes in the US have been added and for those with DSC magic from February, it's still possible to haul up to 1600+ SCs if you start from PER.

Asia routing: AU-SIN/HKG-HEL-EU
North America routing: AU-LAX/SFO/DFW-ORD/SFO/JFK/MIA-HEL-EU
Would like to do AU-SIN/HKG-HEL-MAN-SIN/HKG-AU in Aug/Sept, is this possible in this fare

My brother is looking to try to snare an AY RTW during the current sale. He's asked me whether he would get double DSCs on QF sector(s) if he registered for the current QF DSC offer and could lock an AY J deal away by the 16 October DSC booking cutoff.

I couldn't with certainty answer. Does anyone know whether the QF sector(s) under that scenario would be eligible flights for DSCs?

In past promos, yes.

Need to make sure they are booked with a QF flight number (not AY codeshare). I believe there are no codeshares across the Pacific (so only QF #).

From Asia to Oz, AY put their code on most/all(?) QF flights. If you can get the QF # it also means 120 SCs instead of 60 SCs (before any potential DSCs).

Don't see why not, as long as he books sectors with QF flight numbers. Mrs Pineapple and I have booked just that off the last DSC offer.

Hi All,
Just trying to look at availability via expert flyer, and I realised I don’t know which fare bucket these are booked into. Does anyone know if it’s J,C,D or I?
Thanks in advance

Might vary by airline. I have a current AY booking on a promotional J fare and the QF and AY segments are both booked into I

Cheers skip

Does it ever come available of the xmas break. Ie maybe leave mid December return mid/late Jan?
Given it's one of the high seasons, it would be surprising. Couple of years back I felt really lucky after scoring $2,500 return to Finland (in Y) during the busiest Christmas season while the low season would go for closer to $1,500.

I'm interested in the Finnair RTW for a few months over Christmas especially if I can get some magic sectors - not just out December and back January - just going back through the thread and it seems a bit inconsistent but does anyone have better knowledge of when the specials normally come out

PM madrooster who is a TA and all over this.

He seems to have gone a bit quiet recently... or maybe I'm just too small a fish for him to bother with :)
Can't expect someone to keep offering without getting any business in return. My take is he can offer a competitive quote. PM him.
