22 July confirmed/booked :

Travel on 1 August 2018 (10 days out)

PEK-NRT CA 925 A330
NRT-KUL NH 815 B789
both business class

36000 LM points + $A73

Flights were visible and selectable online to the Lifemiles site, on 20 July, but the booking failed multiple times when going to the payment page. Had to email them to finalise, and then make two 10 minute phone calls. Helpful enough service, but I was relieved when the confirmation came through, and I could double check on the ANA (NH) website, and then do a seat selection.

Looking forward to the NH sector.

Rang up last night to cancel a booking , bought some miles and re booked for May next year 67k points plus $120usd pp business class MEL-PEK-ICN-TASHKENT

August SYD-ICN-LAX OZ602/204 Business class 80,000 + USD$116.50
Sept ORD-HND-SYD NH 111/879 First/Business 97,480 + USD$ 64.42 (!!!!! How good is that?)

Was able to use the provided code on NH website (naturally) to confirm/select seats for the trip home... no luck with the OZ outbound...

ALSO had difficulty getting through to payment on BOTH bookings... multiple attempts required.....

Have a go at seat selection for the OZ legs on the Avianca (not LM, but the airline) website. I’ve had luck there with TK, which like OZ is tricky to select seats on if not booked directly with them.

Nice itinerary!

Best way is to go to their website and DONT go to manage booking rather go to online checkin . Once you click on that it will say its too early to check in but would you like to select seats .
It has worked on the three flights I’ve booked with lifemiles just recently.

For what date? I want that about this time next year.
We depart Melbourne to Tashkent on May 5th using life miles and Almaty to Hong Kong was on May 14th. When I booked the flight to Hong Kong it said there was six business class seats available between Almaty and ICN on a lot of different dates

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Well - call it a Frequent Flyer miracle - with TG cancelling their day flight from BKK to SYD I was left with a 14 hour layover in BKK on a ZRH-BKK-SYD LM award booking. So I called LM seeking to just cancel without paying any fees but they offered to find alternate flights - I said go ahead but I had already looked for alternatives and found none. Lo and behold they offered business class flights ZRH-SIN-SYD on SQ (2 persons) - so I graciously accepted. New e-tickets were e-mailed and booking looks all good on the SQ site.

Needless to say these flights did not show up on the LifeMiles booking site (or United or AwardNexus etc).

Used the screenshot method to book the following for 2 x pax in mid August 2019:
TG F - SYD-BKK-LHR
SN J - LHR-BRU-EDI

I sent an email with screenshots on Tuesday at lunchtime and received a reply stating that Avianca had "submitted your case to our specialized department".

This morning I received a an email containing our travel documents and a request to phone Avianca to pay the taxes which I did.

Total for 2:
240,000 Lifemiles
US$277.10 taxes and fees

Another successful screenshot redemption:

SYD-BKK TG F
BKK-LHR TG F
LHR-LIS TP J

Miles and taxes for two pax: 230k + $US233

I wonder if someone could put up a one page document (or point me to one) outlining what is involved in doing a "screenshot" booking. Just a clear explanation of why to do it, and how to do it. Thanks. (should be a permanent resource on this site)

This thread is only for posting successful bookings. There's another thread here on AFF for general LM discussion. However - to answer your question... Lifemiles screenshot method

Unusual they let you book mixed class via screenshots.

I booked simple JFK to ICN to BKK online in F and J 96k points and 137 AUD

It’s allowed for a while now, can’t remember exactly since when. Maybe since the website was upgraded.

Most of my screenshots are mixed class with J connections in Europe/USA for some extra value.

Nice! No availability all the way to SYD or you need to stop in BKK?
