Avianca Brazil Amigo status match

Logged in for a check up today, no news or change of status. Would really like *A Gold for a trip coming up in late Nov - here's hoping...

Just had fun joining up.
Translating the page to English gave me grief with the application. Would not accept Australia as country of residence and could not bypass the CPF field.
Completing the form without translating by having 2 tabs open in my browser (so I know what is required in each field) allowed the application to go through. Wierd as rocking horse poo.

Exactly what I had to do, which made it so amusing if it doesn't work out I'll still think I got my moneys worth.

I received an email today informing me that I am now Diamond. :)

It is valid until 3/17.

What did you match from and when did you submit your request? And when you signed up with Avianca did you get a LifeMiles number or an Amigo/Friend number? I can't work out the difference between the two.

I signed up for Amigo and matched with my QF WP.

I put my request in when I first spotted it.

As far as I can tell, Avianca brazil is a different airline (effectively) than Avianca in Columbia, and the 'Amigo' program is thus different from 'LifeMiles'. To get this status match you first have to to join 'Amigo', then apply for the status match.

'Amigo' is a little less polished than LifeMiles it seems.

Thank you. I'm very confused but I think it maybe coming together now.

I think what I've done is sign up for both the Amigo and LifeMiles program but it seems it's only the former that was offering a match.

Hey Danger!

Avianca started in Colombia as the national airline almost 100 years ago. It was bought by a Brazilian man who has now changed the name of one of his smaller airlines from Brazil into Avianca Brazil

Similar to what LAN has done in South America. Their is LAN chile, Peru Colombia etc but LAN has united their airlines under one. Few years back I flew with LAN Colombia but it wasn't part of One World at that time, so no QC or points towards Qantas.

Would they join Amigo and LifeMiles? time will tell

Cheers
Ken

E-mail overnight; got Diamond level (matched to QFF Platinum). Yippee, now I can slide down from Aeroplan's "Elite 75K" to "lower-than-pond-scum 25K" at the end of the year and still enjoy *A Gold :) for next year's trip.

Interestingly, no mention of status when I log into my account, but 'print card' brings up the correct flavour :)

Edit: I originally sent the application e-mail on 2 October, but didn't get any acknowledgement. Re-sent on 26 October and received acknowledgment re getting result within 30 days of end of promotion...

How did I not spot this earlier? *smacks forehead*. I was about to pay a ghastly fee for baggage on an A3 flight I've got in December ... fingers crossed this comes through in time to avoid that!

I applied for mine 24hrs ago. I received the automated reply immediately, so am hoping it wont take too long to come through. I have an LOT flight coming up next week with a 4hr layover in Warsaw, hopefully I can use this for lounge access there. Hopefully I will get the Diamond as well to match my QFF Platinum.

I received my email today (QF P1 match):

Dear Fifa

Thanks for participating on the status match promo. Your Amigo card level was
upgraded to DIAMOND. Please check your account.

Sincerely

Whilst I wish you all the luck I would adjust your expectations. I applied on the 15th of October and still have heard nothing except the automated reply. Definitely have a backup plan for that layover next week.
